Flower/plant middle name for ‘Bronwyn’

Can you lovely bunch help me find a flower or plant name as a middle name for ‘Bronwyn’ please?

We liked ‘Lily’ as a name but I’m not sure it sits well next to Bronwyn? Ivy would be perfect but that’s my first’s middle name 🤦‍♀️

Re the spelling problem: as a different example Robin is usually for a boy and Robyn is usually for a girl but I much prefer the Robin spelling and know some girls called Robin. Is it not possible at all to use Bronwyn? What's going to happen?

Edited

Everyone who speaks Welsh will know that it is spelt wrong.

That may or may not be a problem for the OP.

Ivy would be perfect but that’s my first’s middle name

Why is that a problem? Aren't middle names usually after family members? Why not use Ivy?

DacwMamYnDwad · 23/02/2024 17:39

@SurvivalKits , what will happen is obvious from this thread.

The -wyn ending implies it's a boy's name, but boys don't get called Bronwyn.
Bronwen translates as Breast+blessed.

There's no circumflex on Haf

KnickerlessParsons · 23/02/2024 18:01

It's Bronwen, not Bronwyn 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Think Gwyn and Gwen.

Doesn't mean Bronwyn is right though.

cosylife · 23/02/2024 19:38

I live in Wales and commented earlier in the thread that I’ll change the spelling to Bronwen so all good on that one. Everyday is a learning day and thanks to those who mentioned it, as I had no idea 😊

I don’t want my children to have the same middle names, I’d like them to have their own.

Some gorgeous suggestions in here thank you ❤️

It’s not a flower name (it’s a virtue/word name) but have you considered Blythe? For some reason Bronwen Blythe sounds great to me - and the nn Bebe/Bibi on a little one is really cute.

Greentears · 23/02/2024 20:08

I really like Bronwen Sage, Bronwen Iris or Bronwen Aster

Eirlys, means snowdrop

GettingStuffed · 23/02/2024 21:33

Eirlys, roughly pronounce ire lis.. It's Welsh for snowdrop.

It's not a different spelling, they are two different words
Bronwyn - male name, not really used
Bronwen - female name

It's a bit like John and Jane - the difference is only one sound but they are different names, Jane is not an alternative spelling of John.

JennyfromtheBlok · 23/02/2024 21:44

I know not a flower, but
Bronwen Delilah

or if you want floral
Bronwen Dahlia

DacwMamYnDwad · 23/02/2024 21:44

@DewinDwl , I wouldn't have thought that Bronwyn has ever been a male name. Or Olwyn for that matter.

I know a Bronwen Bracken. Thought it was a bit odd at first but love it now!
