What do you think of these?

Saskia — yes
Polly — yes
Aurelia — no but yes as middle name if first is short
Lucy — yes

They're lovely names, all quite girly apart from Saskia which is a bit more plucky.

Saskia Lucy would be my choice.

Violettaa · 22/02/2024 10:55

Really like Saskia. It’s cool, reasonably unusual (but no spelling or pronunciation issues), and brings to mind a feisty girl.

Aurelia is frilly and try-hard.

Polly and Lucy are nice but a bit boring.

Mumofgirls2017 · 22/02/2024 10:55

Saskia is ok. I love Aurelia and Polly. Lucy I find a bit wet and boring.

RosaSkyes · 22/02/2024 11:20

Not mad on Polly. Like the others

Lucia?

Wombatsquarepoo · 22/02/2024 11:23

I like Saskia and Lucy

toastofthetown · 22/02/2024 11:28

Saskia - I know a few Saskias around my age, so feels a bit boring and I don’t love the sound of it
Polly - love it. It might get a mixed in with all the Lily, Molly, Tillies etc.
Aurelia - Aurelia is gorgeous. It’s on the edge of being too frilly for my tastes, but still in bounds. It’s rising steadily in popularity
Lucy - dull and drab. A bit of a snooze in comparison to the rest of your list

DuchessOfSausage · 22/02/2024 11:42

Saskia - like
Polly - like the most
Aurelia - like the least, too filly
Lucy - like but L names too popular

GreenMarigold · 22/02/2024 11:46

I like all of them, Polly and Lucy the most!

TrustPenguins · 22/02/2024 11:53

I like Saskia best.

Lucy is the worst, just a bit dull and wet.

Onelife2024 · 22/02/2024 12:06

I love Lucy! I have one! Still love her name!

Polly and Saskia are nice too - less commonly used but familiar and work for adults too.

Aurelia isn’t so much to my taste as it’s 4 syllables and I can’t think of an obvious short version that works well for adults, unless I’m missing one? Rory, Riley I’m not so keen on. Ria / Lia possibly are nice though?

Irisrosedaisy · 22/02/2024 12:07

Lucy is my favourite from that list.

Motherofpearlxoxo · 22/02/2024 12:08

I really love Polly!
not mad keen on Saskia. It feels very 90s!

Go for Polly! 😍

Littleme2023 · 22/02/2024 12:10

Saskia - I loved I don’t know a single Saskia
Polly - I think is cute for a child and an old lady but don’t like it for the inbetween ages if that makes sense 🙈
Auriela is ok but a bit of a mouthful and I like a previous persons suggestion as a middle name.
Lucy - perfectly nice but that’s about it.

They’re all nice names will just come down to your personally preference.

Aozora13 · 22/02/2024 12:12

One of my DC is Saskia so clearly am biased. Polly and Lucy are nice but feel like story book characters from my childhood. Am less keen on Aurelia, agree with others on frilliness.

LauderSyme · 22/02/2024 12:14

Saskia and Aurelia are lovely.

I am not a fan of Polly or Lucy.

DesertSnow · 22/02/2024 12:20

Aurelia is my top girl's name but DH hates it - says it's too frilly, sounds too much like oral. I guess it's a bit of a marmite name.

Polly and Lucy are nice too but my next choice would be Saskia

Pieceofpurplesky · 22/02/2024 12:22

1 Polly
2 Saskia
3 Lucy

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 22/02/2024 13:02

Love Saskia, Polly too but a different vibe. Lucy I find quite wet.

Aurelia I can't abide, so frilly especially with the usual 4-syllable pronunciation in the UK (I know one, Portuguese I believe, and she says it closer to three so that's less ott to me).

shoopshoopdedoo · 22/02/2024 13:53

Love Polly
Really like Lucy
Like Saskia

Strongly dislike Aurelia. I know it’s very popular but I find it too frilly and princessy for my taste.

Sleepnplay · 22/02/2024 15:52

I like Saskia and Lucy.

Avopopcorn · 22/02/2024 15:59

Not Aurelia - probably be shortened to Rey Rey which I like even less. Like Saskia the most, Polly and Lucy are fine but also a bit dull maybe?

timoteigirl · 22/02/2024 19:06

I think the name Saskia requires a red hair and or a strong character. Rembrandt.
Polly — sorry this is awful
Aurelia — yes. Portuguese
Lucy — yes although I also like Lucia and Lucie. Associations to Narnia books and Lucifer.

CharlieBoo · 22/02/2024 19:10

Saskia feels a bit dated, know one who would be about 25 now, not any little ones.

Aurelia.. not my taste, much prefer Amelia

Polly.. went up school with one (80’s) it’s ok

Lucy.. nicest from your list, classic and timeless

Sunnnybunny72 · 22/02/2024 19:20

Saskia- lovely.
Aurelia - too much like areola.
Lucy - yes, wet
Polly - dreadful

TrulyScrumptiousTS · 22/02/2024 19:21

I like them all except Aurelia
