we dont go for 'popular' names, so needs to not be in the top ten now or recently.

nothing too unusual either.

dh family has scottish roots. maybe something to influence?

Catriona
Isla
Kirsty

Lauren is very popular, so you have a mixture of styles there.

I suggest Esme. Iona Skye is lovely!!

PersonalClown · 24/03/2008 10:31

Can I start telling people in RL yet??

misdee · 24/03/2008 10:34

not yet PC, havent told the girls yet.

Lauren was very popular in the 80's/90's but not so much in 2002 when she was born. i think it is getting more popular now though.

WHAT??? This is killing me , keeping it all in.
People ask me how you're doing and it takes all of my willpower not to say!!

misdee · 24/03/2008 10:49

lol.

i have docs next week, and hopefully scan in 4 weeks.

maybe you could just say 'oh very well' lol.

justr worried someone will tell the girls before we do.

I was in a similar position a few weeks ago misdee another girls name I think we may have decided on Bethany.

Other ones I liked were

Eilidh (pronounced Ailey) but too close to Abbie and would be difficult outside Scotland
Elodie
Iona is lovely as well

Niecie · 24/03/2008 11:16

How about Ailish or Fiona?

I think Christie is the female spelling (think Christie Brinkley). Lovely name for a boy or a girl but we used Christian for DS1 instead.

Think Ruby is in the top 10 now, so that is a no no!

Congratulations btw! Lovely news.

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/03/2008 13:11

how about Petra, with reference to her dad (new life etc) though it does make me think of Blue Peter dog

Rosie
Paige
Megan

No idea if those are in the top 10 but I like them!
I find boys names much harder to come up with. I do like Harrison, Jack and Alfie though.

Greensleeves · 24/03/2008 18:37

MaryAnn, that is a LOVELY idea [weep]

popsycal · 24/03/2008 18:44

catinthehat · 24/03/2008 18:51

RTKangaEGGMummy · 24/03/2008 18:54

I was going to say PETRA as well for the same reason re Peter

Going on the 'e' and 'n' rule - how about:

Erin

Helen/Helena

Katherine/Catherine
Florence
Megan

misdee · 24/03/2008 21:50

some of these names are very good. i like Erin, but again its very popular atm, there are two in dd2 class IIRC.
