Hi Ladies!

Please help me choose a name! I've put a poll at the bottom as could use some outside perspective as DH and I are going round in circles!

Any feedback would be great as well 🤗

Jessica is DH favourite and I always though it would be mine, however I can't see her as a Jessica/Jessie. Jessica Olivia is probably one of my favourites on the list however I have an aunt and niece with these names so struggling to get my head around not just choosing a more unique name!

Isabella is my favourite, however DH doesn't like it so we compromised on Isabelle as a middle name.

Thanks!

I love all your name ideas. I found it hard to choose between Jessica Olivia and Chloe Isabelle - I really like both. I went for Chloe because I have a personal preference for shorter names.

Jessica Olivia and Jessica Rachel sound like something straight out of the early 00s!

MKWarrier · 15/02/2024 14:49

I like Jessica Olivia and Charlotte Isabelle the best. But I love all the options!

Do you like the potential nicknames for Charlotte? We love the full version but have been put off using it as we’re worried people will shorten it.

I guess that will be a problem no matter what name, there's always and era that people think of... I guess DH and I are in our 30's so these names are completely normal to us, and we can't get on board with the more popular names right now. Based on your comments, I assume you like neither?

They've been my preference for a while, as I say my only concern with Jessica Olivia is my aunt and nieces names but maybe I'm over thinking it?

Dh said Char (not a chance on my watch! 😂) or Lottie. I can get on board with Lottie whilst shes little from friends and family however like you I prefer the full name. I keep coming back to the fact people will shorten names probably to something I don't like! As long as she's happy then I'll be happy 😊. My name is shortened and it shouldn't be (think Char!)

I voted for Charlotte because I like it the best.

I’ve used my niece’s middle name as my dd’s first name, and my Aunt used a variation of my first name as my cousin’s first name. We both took it as a compliment that we like each other’s name choices, so I think it’s fine to use Jessica Olivia if it’s your favourite.

NachosAndCheese · 15/02/2024 18:13

I love Jessica, it’s not a name I hear much at school and makes a change from the endless Evie, Avas, Amelia’s and Islas.

Charlotte I don’t love but I know sooo many Charlottes!

I can't see your poll on my phone app, but gather you're choosing between a few names that have been mentioned.

I'd choose Jessica Charlotte or Jessica Isabelle.

Jessica is a very pretty classic, and the nicknames of Jess and Jessie are very nice, imo.

TTC12023 · 15/02/2024 18:24

@Onelife2024 that's really helpful thank you! I think I might be over thinking it a little. It's DH favourite although Charlotte Isabelle is a strong contender after a chat this afternoon Grin

Thanks for this - Jessica Charlotte wants an option but now you've mentioned it maybe it should be!
Jessica Isabelle was in the list but DH can't get past Jizabelle (which I personally don't think with happen!)

Nope, I can’t say I do! In teen DD’s school there are more Jessicas and Olivias than I can count! There are plenty of timeless classics out there that don’t seem so dated to a particular era

I absolutely love your new suggestion of Charlotte Isabelle though - super pretty

TTC12023 · 15/02/2024 20:31

@MaloneMeadow that's helpful thank you! How old is your DD if you don't mind me asking?

Rachel Isabelle
Rebecca Isabelle
Cate Isabelle

MissionImpossible3 · 16/02/2024 14:25

I would go for Isabella Charlotte!

Sash95 · 18/02/2024 01:08

I really really like Jessica Charlotte!
I think all the names on your list are lovely, you can't really go wrong!
If you like Katie, have you considered Katherine? It sounds a bit more grown up for when she's older.
I don't want to generalise too much but I think Jessica/Jess sounds like a strong and feisty name, whereas a Charlotte is good, calm and intelligent. Isabelle, I associate with someone who is very pretty/girly. That's just my take though...I suppose it depends on what vibe you're going for.
I wouldn't worry too much about names being of a certain time. I know Jessicas my age (late 20s) and Jessicas age 2. I prefer the 80s/90s names too. Think you have good taste!
