Margot or Phoebe?

BlusshhB44 · 14/02/2024 21:45

I think of both of these names as strong names, which would suit a child and an adult.

I don’t like frilly or ‘unique’ names but i’m not looking for a name in the top 30 either.

do you like either of these names?

what other names may i like?

I like Phoebe

Margot reminds me of maggot but I still quite like it.

How about Alexandra, Elizabeth, Harriet, Georgina, Georgia, Eliza, Sophia or Sophie?

OctaviaRedQueen · 14/02/2024 21:53

Phoebe is top 30 in UK if that bothers you and Margot is shooting up the charts.

I like both names quite equally and would be struggling to decide too! Does one sound better with your surname?

Onelife2024 · 14/02/2024 22:04

I prefer Phoebe personally. Margot is quite nice but I wonder whether it will date badly as it’s having a sudden resurgence with the Barbie movie.

I like them both. Phoebe would be my preference though.

Chanhedforthis · 15/02/2024 11:52

They're both quite trendy if that bothers you?

At a push id say Phoebe

noooooooo · 15/02/2024 12:00

Julia is a gentle, dignified name, and of a similar vibe to Margot.

To me Margot is elegant and way more pleasant to say than Phoebe.

Hoplolly · 15/02/2024 12:01

Can't swing a cat for hitting a Phoebe at the moment. I'm not really keen on it as a name at all. So Margot would be my preference.

I have three children, primary school and nursery age and don’t know a single one, at school, nursery or at clubs! Margot I do think is having a bit of a moment, shame we don’t have the 2022 stats but I imagine it’s risen in the charts. I still think both are good names though

FayCarew · 15/02/2024 13:55

Phoebe. Margot looks like Maggot.

VoleChomper · 15/02/2024 14:42

Most people I know who've had a daughter recently seems to have had a Margot. And nearly everyone who's had a son has had an Ezra.

KayEmAy · 16/02/2024 18:23

Team Phoebe!
