I’m down to three names from a very long list!

From these three which would you pick? Also would welcome any middle name suggestions thanks 😊

Sophia is the nicest. If you’re worried about it being too popular you could try another spelling.. Sofia is nice. Other two are lovely too.

ColdButSunny · 09/02/2024 10:19

They're all lovely, Sophia is my favourite.

rosewain24 · 09/02/2024 10:20

I think Sophia is the nicest:)

Sophia is a trend name and viewed as a very working class name. I wouldn’t choose it as a name as I work in a sector where being viewed as working class would seriously disadvantage a potential employee.

Alice is my favourite.

What ? Since when was Sophia considered a ' very working class name '.....

SemperIdem · 09/02/2024 10:27

I prefer Alice, of the three.

Sophie is nicer than Sophia.

TM1979 · 09/02/2024 10:33

I like them all. Alice would probably be my least favorite. Even if Sophia is overused there’s no denying it’s a beautiful name. Very classy I think.
Sophia Grace maybe?

DuchessOfSausage · 09/02/2024 10:36

@whoopwhaa , what @Whiteandgreen6 probably means is that she works in a sector where a regular name would go against you, but something like Stormi-Rae would be perfect. Wink

@FlatWhite2 Sophia and Sofia are both very popular. Using the less popular spelling won't make any difference. You could spell it Soffia to make her stand out - only a few of them on darkgreener.

Daffyyellow · 09/02/2024 10:36

Alice is by far my favourite.

Grace is a tricky name, what if they’re clumsy?

Sophia I’m not fond and it will date.

NotFastButFurious · 09/02/2024 11:24

I love Alice, probably my favourite name.
Sophia is just a bit too frilly for me although I don't mind Sophie so much.
Grace is lovely but very popular at the moment.

Alice is my favourite.

What a very silly thing to say.

NachosAndCheese · 09/02/2024 12:00

I’m put off Grace because it’s so massively overused as a middle name, or hyphenated. Along with Rose and May. There are soooo many Isla/Ava/Mia/Evie-Graces.

boonr · 09/02/2024 12:06

Sophia

Liontame · 09/02/2024 17:07

Honestly, to me they are just all very unimaginative. I know several of each. Saying that, out of the 3 I’d go for Alice as I know some lovely adult Alice’s, and it feels less of a trend name than the other two.

Pemba · 09/02/2024 17:17

I like them all, you have nice taste!

I would probably choose Alice, classic and timeless.

Sophia is too of course, but it has been so popular recently that puts me off a bit. Actually, I slightly prefer Sophie to Sophia, and would have been really torn if you'd said Sophie. I find it amusing that someone is claiming Sophia is 'very working class'. That's just rubbish, it's classic. Working-class people are also allowed to use classic names, you know, they're not reserved for the middle classes!

I didn't used to like Grace but now I do, it's grown on me over the last few years. Sounds simple and elegant. Also extremely popular but maybe more as a middle name?

Alice Grace would be lovely.

DuchessOfSausage · 09/02/2024 17:20

Alice Grace rhymes with disgrace.

HuntingoftheSnark · 09/02/2024 17:48

I absolutely love Alice - all my user names come from the books. I'd go with something like Alice Olivia.

Pemba · 09/02/2024 18:24

DuchessOfSausage · 09/02/2024 17:20

Alice Grace rhymes with disgrace.

Well everything sounds like something else if you try hard enough!

Also, not really, as the emphasis with Alice is on the 'Al' part, not the 'iss' sound.

DuchessOfSausage · 09/02/2024 18:51

@Pemba , but the emphasis is on grace in disgrace.

mathanxiety · 09/02/2024 19:06

Alice is my favourite.

For a middle name -
Alice Annabel
Alice Madeleine
Alice Katherine
Alice Primrose
Alice Adelaide
Alice Matilda
Alice Francesca
Alice Eleanore
Alice Elizabeth
Alice Rosalind
Alice Beatrix
Alice Emmeline
Alice Evelyn
Alice Victoria
Alice Marguerite
Alice Rowena
Alice Constance

Pemba · 09/02/2024 19:06

@DuchessOfSausage Well we will have to agree to disagree but I don't think it's an exact rhyme and it wouldn't stop me using it.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 09/02/2024 20:04

Grace

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 09/02/2024 21:10

Another vote for Alice Grace.

OctaviaRedQueen · 10/02/2024 21:48

Sophia spans all classes. It’s my favourite but like others have said it’s extremely popular and I’m not sure if that would put me off using it…

I think I would go for Alice, classic but not overdone. Sophia as middle name perhaps?
