The E names definitely fit lovely with the Rose surname. Edward, Elliott, Elanna- beautiful.

I would definitely go long name without an obvious short name if you could. Alexander Rose is great but Alex Rose is a bit similar to Axel.

Benjamin would get Ben and Ben Rose doesn't work so well.

Sebastian/ Dominic/ Elliott more likely to stay as a full name so I'd maybe be going down this road for a boy.

Harriet Rose sounds great, or -
Charlotte Rose
Felicity Rose

Also, for boys:
Alexander Rose
Theodore (Theo) Rose
Frederick (Freddie) Rose
Matthew Rose

i think rose is a lovely strong surname. the feminine touch of the flower juxtaposes nicely with the modern day patriarchal expectations, and as long as you teach her how to scrap she’ll be strong as a wrestler 🤼🌹💪

Elodie Rose

William Rose
Kit Rose

I love these!

I'll vote for Abigail Rose as my name is Abigail and my daughter's name is Rose 😍

Suchardchoccy · 06/02/2024 21:30

I also really like Eleanor Rose and William Rose

ZoChan · 06/02/2024 21:46

@GeorgieRose23 aww 🥰 Elenna is my preferred spelling now! It means the shining light. It was a character in my friends dads favourite book.

Onelife2024 · 06/02/2024 22:10

From your girls list, I really love Georgia and Harriet with Rose.

From your boys list I like Isaac Rose.

From pp suggestions I love -

Imogen
Abigail
Leonie
Caroline
Miram
Helena
Eliza
Annabel
Isabel

For boys I personally would choose something less commonly used to avoid the surname needing to be used all the time in class. Ideas-

Alistair
Hayden
Euan
Sebastian
Aidan

VivienneDelacroix · 06/02/2024 22:16

Victor Rose

Morvern Rose

Susannah
Eleanor
Helena
Eliza
Imogen
Lavinia
Victoria

Magnus
Jonathan
Julian
Nicholas
James
Edmund

I think strong, traditional names are required. I once knew an Angela and that worked and it must be due a come back.

dinmin · 06/02/2024 22:35

For a girl I would avoid any of the cutesy names that end in an ee sound as they will sound like the ubiquitous hyphenated x-Rose which all seem to be that kind of name…

I’d pick something with at least two syllables. William or Oliver would work fine. Kit, Finn, Jack - no. Robert Rose sounds like a stage name—please, no!

For a girl, again, at least two syllables and nothing too “cute” or too popular, because she’ll constantly be correcting people thinking she’s “Evie-Rose” “Molly-Rose” “Elodie-Rose” “Esme-Rose” etc. I’d be looking at something longer that is emphatically NOT the sort of name people tend to hyphenate - Katherine, Alexandra, Cassandra, Jessica, Tabitha, Bianca, Harriet.

bittertwisted · 06/02/2024 22:43

I have a Finn so biased
Mine is Finlay Gabriel 'surname'
Finn rose is a great name
For me Delilah rose would be cool for a girl

NotMeekNotObedient · 06/02/2024 22:47

I think Harriet or Francesca work best. Definitely something longer or people will think it's a hyphenated first name.

I like William. Definitely not Jack or Robert.

Onthetipofmytonguetoo · 06/02/2024 22:57

Addison Rose (Addie)

thegreylady · 06/02/2024 23:39

Imogen?
Fergus?

Rosesandlilacs · 07/02/2024 00:05

I like Molly and William from your list.

Longdarkcloud · 07/02/2024 00:06

Avoid Isabella Rose
also Scarlett , Sienna or any colour names, though Indigo Rose does sound rather nice

Longdarkcloud · 07/02/2024 00:10

Totally unforgettable names
Summer Rose
Winter Rose
Autumn Rose
April Rose
May Rose
June Rose
or foe boy August Rose

lifeturnsonadime · 07/02/2024 00:11

You need a long first name - something like

Mathilda , or

Sebastian (was suggested upthread)

LauderSyme · 07/02/2024 00:22

On your list I like Francesca, Elodie and Theodora for a girl and William for a boy.

I'm afraid I don't like how one syllable first names flow with Rose.

Augusta
Angelica
Samantha

Arthur
Nathaniel
Atticus

Calmontheoutsider · 07/02/2024 00:30

Claudia Rose
Harry Rose
Eliza Rose
Thomas Rose

mamakoukla · 07/02/2024 00:48
