My husband and myself love a potential name for our son due in afew weeks however it's the same name as my cousin. He's a few years younger than me and we've never been close. I probably last spoke to him about 9 years ago at a family event. We also live in different countries.
Basically I just want to know people opinions on it.

Thanks 😁

It's totally fine, your cousin sounds pretty irrelevant in your life, they are different generations and not going to be doing any of the same things so it's unlikely they would ever get confused for each other

I agree for all the same reasons. Use the name you both love! If your aunt and uncle ever raise an eyebrow just say how terrific the name is - they can hardly argue 😉

Congratulations on your imminent baby boy 💙

My cousin named his son thr same as our other cousin and his 2nd son the same as another cousins son.

He was very close to the cousins parents (siblings) but it didn't really cause any issues apart from aunt used to say. Xs James to difientriate. The rest of us didn't need to as rare we were all together

It's fine!

I think it's fine. If you are worried you could always drop him a message asking if he doesn't mind you using it. He will probably be flattered!
