My nephew is Jack. DH and I have always liked Zach (Zachary on bc).

We see Jack a lot. Is Jack and Zach silly? Too close? Would you be annoyed if you were Jack's parents in this scenario?

For siblings, definitely not. For cousins, even ones you’ll see a lot, I think it’s fine.

Zoomerang · 04/02/2024 01:51

Totally fine! And Zach is a great name.

I could imagine calling them for tea and I would just trip over them all the time and would end up calling them 'oi you two' tea!

Onelife2024 · 04/02/2024 07:11

Absolutely fine for cousins! I really like the name Zach too.

Silly for siblings, fine for cousins

I don’t think it would even occur to them to be annoyed, and presumably anyway you’d introduce him as Zachary/Zachariah and then he’d become Zach..

KirstenBlest · 04/02/2024 10:44

I'd spell it Zac. I read Zach as Zatch.

LikeMovaLikeDawta · 04/02/2024 10:46

Absolutely fine.

NuffSaidSam · 04/02/2024 10:47

I'd think it was a bit odd if I were Jack's parents, but it's fine really for cousins.

BoleynMemories13 · 04/02/2024 11:43

Ridiculous for siblings, not such a problem for cousins.

Only thing I can think of it may be confusing for the shared grandparents?

SkaneTos · 06/02/2024 21:28

I think it's fine. Not a problem at all.

SueBranchers · 07/02/2024 11:02

yes. I think Zach would feel second best and in the shadow of Jack. If you like -ack names so much call it Backpack

Clockwised · 07/02/2024 12:51

@SueBranchers what the hell 🤣🤣 that gave me a laugh
