Hi, just looking to decide on a girls name!! Could you let me know which you prefer. Middle name is double name.

Cecelia Bridie-Jane
Cecelia Bridget-Jane
Cecelia Anne-Jane
Brie Monica-Jane
Bridie-Jane Monica
Bridie Monica-Jane

We would really like Cecelia or a variant of Bridget as first name and Jane somewhere in the full name if anybody has any ideas :)

Do they have to be hyphenated? All a bit of a mouthful, especially with a double surname but Cecelia Bridget-Jane is my favourite

Riverlee · 30/01/2024 22:08

Bridie /Bridget/Brie Jane combinations sound like Bridget Jones.

Isn’t Brie a cheese?

I line Cecilia Ann Jane (or Cecily)

FünfundvierzigLuftballons · 30/01/2024 22:10

Cecilia Jane or Bridget Jane. Both are lovely. Bridie is cute but would keep it as a sweet nickname (all Bridget’s I know are fab so think it’s a great name in itself). I would personally avoid the hyphenated middle name. I also love Cecilia and had toyed with it but was out off by the meaning which is ‘blind’.

internallydyingfromhormonalshite · 30/01/2024 22:11

Cecelia Bridget-Jane or Cecelia Anne-Jane. Nice names.

Don't like the hyphens however and prefer Ann over Anne.

motleymop · 30/01/2024 22:14

Cecelia Bridie-Jane
Bridget Jane is also nice, as suggested by PP

OopsieeDaisy · 30/01/2024 22:15

Cecelia Jane is lovely. I’m not sure about the two middle names, and definitely not with them being hyphenated which just seems a bit odd.
I’m pretty sure that in Scotland a bridie is some kind of meat pie or similar so I probably wouldn’t choose that as an official name.

Queenmaker · 30/01/2024 22:16

I like the first option, it's lovely 😍

VerbenaGirl · 30/01/2024 22:16

Cecelia Bridie-Jane is nice.

Queenmaker · 30/01/2024 22:17

Bridie is a well known nn for Bridget @OopsieeDaisy also hardly anyone even knows anyone else's middle name, it's not a big deal.

SushiSushi · 30/01/2024 22:17

Cecilia Jane or Cecilia Anne are both lovely.

No hyphens!

Nttttt · 30/01/2024 22:20

I can promise you anything with B-J hyphenated like that will get your daughter bullied in school.

They will call her Cecilia B-J

I would just pick one middle name and drop the hyphen as they are all pretty names :)

IDontLoveTheWayYouLie · 30/01/2024 22:21

Bridie Jane makes me think of Bridget jones. I prefer the Bridget names to the Cecelia one.

Onelife2024 · 30/01/2024 22:28

I like Cecelia Anne-Jane best from your choices. Agree with pp that Bridget-Jane is possibly a bit too much like Bridget Jones (but not a major issue for middle names). I’m personally not so keen on Bridie or Brie as first names, but nice as middle names.
A few variants I prefer if you would like any ideas -

Anna Bridie Jane
Anna Monica Jane
Celia Monica Jane
Ann Cecelia Jane

user1492757084 · 31/01/2024 07:47

I would not use the hyphen and saying Bridget Jane aloud is harsh sounding.

Best from your list ..

Cecelia Bridie Jane
Cecelia Jane Bridget
Bridie Monica Jane - my fave

Others ..
Bridget Celia Jane
Bridie Jane Cecilia
Anna Cecelia - my fave
Jane Monica
Cecily Anne Bridget

Queenmaker · 30/01/2024 22:17

Bridie is a well known nn for Bridget @OopsieeDaisy also hardly anyone even knows anyone else's middle name, it's not a big deal.

I meant more as a standalone first name as per the last 2 options. It’s personal choice anyway, only thought I’d mention it as it would put me off.

FayCarew · 31/01/2024 09:08

Cecelia - Cecilia is the usual spelling
Brie - too cheesyBridie - my brain wants to read it as BirdieI don't like hyphenated names and know lots of Sarah Jane, Emma Jane and Laura Janes so the - Jane seems dated
Bridget-Jane doesn't flow and too many j sounds
Anne-Jane doesn't flow and sounds a bit like Engine

Cecilia Bridget Jane is OK
Bridget Cecilia and Cecilia Bridget are ok
Monica is OK

miniaturepixieonacid · 31/01/2024 12:13

My favourite is Cecelia Bridie-Jane

RuthW · 31/01/2024 12:17

First one

Mcd939393 · 08/02/2024 17:34

Thanks for all the input. The bridget variant is sentimental after a family member as is Jane

Mumofgirls2017 · 08/02/2024 21:58

Cecilia Bridie-jane

MeinKraft · 08/02/2024 22:00

Jane Bridie

I know that wasn't one of the options, sorry

theduchessofspork · 08/02/2024 23:41

knock off the hyphens (eternally naff) and don’t use Bridie as a full name (too twee) or Brie at all (you might be a desperate housewife fan, but her peers will just think of cheese.)

Cecilia Bridget Jane is really lovely

I like Bridget Cecilia Jane too

is there a particular reason you want to spell it Cecelia? I know it’s a variant but it isn’t standard (if you are in the UK) so it may be a pain for her.

Aquamarine1029 · 08/02/2024 23:44

The hyphens are totally pointless and your child won't thank you.

Snugglemonkey · 09/02/2024 00:07

I do not like hyphens and I do not think any of these names go together with a hype. I like the names individually, but do not think they go. We have 4 Brigids in my extended family. A variety of ages

I love Bridie as I have a lovely old aunt called Bridie. She had a daughter also called Brigid, but we called her Birdie.

We also have two named Bríd

Ensuite · 09/02/2024 06:41

Cecelia for the first name
