Sibling for Elijah

DH and I really struggle with boys names, so lo and behold baby number 2 is our second boy! First born is Elijah, our surname is one syllable. I’m not particularly bothered about sibling names “going together”.

Names I love but can’t use:

Joseph, Joel, Ethan

Samuel is definitely my favourite from your list - one of my favourite boys names ever!

I also really like Luca and Gabriel.

Of your options I’d go for Jesse or Rufus, but also like Gabriel and Jonah. Raphael or Rafe nn Rafi? - as a full name it doesn’t work. Samuel is fine if a bit dull. Luca is being massively overused. Not keen on the rest - especially Brodie - if my brother had a fantastic name like Elijah and I was Brodie I’d be really pissed.

Sam but only if it sounds OK with the surname.

@theduchessofspork your last line really made me laugh! I didn’t think Brodie was so offensive.

I’m surprised at Luca being overused, it doesn’t seem to be the case locally and I work with kids so I feel I’ve got reasonable perspective. A few suggestions for Noah which is way too popular though. DH suggested it thinking it was relatively unused and it’s definitely top ten here.

I’d like a non-trendy name that’s heard of but not too popular. Elijah seems to have shot up the ranks since we named him (it was top 100 when he was born but quite high up).
