Would love some suggestions on German boys names that work well in English. I generally like short and snappy over long and flowing but open to anything.

Lukas is the only one that springs to mind.

I love Johann (pronounced yo-han). It’s just John in German but I think sounds so cute in English.

Yes I agree, there's a lot of similar common names, but I wondered if OP wanted something that sounded more traditionally German?

I know a Sigmund who goes by Sig and it's such a cool name.

FünfundvierzigLuftballons · 28/01/2024 17:08

Thanks. So yes was thinking names that work in German and English rather than let’s call baby boy Karl-Heinz ;)
I like Adam, Max, Felix, etc and was just trying to see if I’m missing any cool lovely ones I haven’t thought of.

My German friend has Linus and Silas. Obviously the pronunciation is different but they are quite used to that.

menopausalmare · 28/01/2024 17:57

I know a German lad called Tilo. Never met another. Nice and short and snappy.
