Dennis as a middle name?

Any thoughts? It was my beloved Grandad's name (My Dad wasn't around so he was my primary male role model and my hero).

I'd love to honour him if our baby is a boy but I'm not sure if it's just too outdated. My Grandad didn't have a middle name so no option to use that.

First name would likely be classic, we like Matthew, Oliver, Arthur, James, among others.

Love it!

I might be biased as both my Grandads were Dennis but I think it will be a lovely middle name paired with one of your classic first name

Yes it’s perfectly fine as a middle name

Onelife2024 · 26/01/2024 21:02

Great as a middle name - I love middle names that have meaning / family links.

Dennis is a really nice name, and it's a lovely way to honour your Grandad.

Thank you all, you've reassured me Smile

Posted without reading beyond the OP. It's a lovely idea to honour your grandfather @CheeseWisely and we all seem positive about the name.

It's great. Arthur Dennis has a particularly nice ring to it imo x

It’s a great middle name, especially as it’s after your grandad, and it sounds good with all your potential first names.

KirstenBlest · 27/01/2024 11:28

All the first names are fine. Pick the first name that goes best with the surname

He'll be Matthew Wisely or Matt Wisely more than Matthew Dennis

One advantage with Dennis as a middle name is that if he was one of many Arthur Smiths, Arthur Dennis Smith sounds distinguished (compared to something like Arthur Alfie Smith)

Good name. Love Denny, too.

Riverlee · 27/01/2024 11:29

Lively tribute.

Love it too.

Lovely way to honour him
