First name to go with Blair middle name

Hello!

Please help me, I feel like I'm tying myself in knots!

We would like to use Blair as the middle name for our daughter for family reasons but are really struggling for a first name.

I think my taste is quite 'classic' and I'm keen to avoid really trendy names if possible but love the possibility of being able to shorten to a cute nickname.

I've been stuck on Rose (nn Rosie) as I love the alliteration with our surname (also an R) however I'm not sure if the two one syllable names really go together? I've considered longer versions of Rose (Rosalie, Rosanna) but just don't love them.

Would love to hear any other suggestions!

I'd avoid b's and it needs more than one syllable

I think most names would go tbh, two or three syllables maybe better.

Rather than a longer version have you considered Rosa Blair. Just flows a little better. But no one really uses the middle name though so it doesn’t matter if they go.

Not many use the middle name. Concentrate on a name that sounds OK with the surname. Rosie Robson or something is a bit R heavy, and some people especially children struggle with their Rs.

Onelife2024 · 09/01/2024 19:00

I would go for Rose - people rarely use middle names. Maybe Rosa or Rosie if you prefer? Or add another middle name to add extra syllables, e.g. Rose Layla Blair, Rose Martha Blair?

GenXisthebest · 09/01/2024 19:02

If you love Rosie, go with Rosie. I think Rosie Blair R---- sounds great.

oldnorsesaga · 09/01/2024 19:40

What about using both Rose and Blair as two middles with longer-ish first name? Is surname long or short? Something like Matilda Rose Blair R or Katherine Rose Blair R?

As replacement for Rose with middle name Blair.
Rebecca Blair R
Rita Blair R
Lucia Blair R
Roxana Blair R
Freya Blair R
Helena Blair R
Rachel Blair R
