Storm - beautiful name

GoodVibesHere · 28/12/2023 16:06

To be honest I prefer Summer. The problem with Sunny is that it's traditionally a boy's name, spelt Sonnie.

But if you do go for it, I'd say Sunny is the better spelling.

NoKateMoss · 28/12/2023 16:06

Sunny is my favourite spelling for a girl.

MissBPotter · 28/12/2023 16:09

I don’t think it would be good to call a girl a name with the word ‘son’ at the beginning, and it sounds very masculine as well in my opinion. Summer is a lovely name and I also considered Serena and Sienna for our 3rd girl.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 28/12/2023 16:15

I think Sonny is a boys name.
Sunny won't suit your daughter when she's a stroppy teen either.

The name reminds me of a boy's name, but I like the Sunny spelling most if you still opt for it.

Other S names I like:
Summer
Sadie
Sian / Shan
Sophie

MolkosTeenageAngst · 28/12/2023 17:05

I’d see Sunny as a boys name and agree that Summer would be better.

I'm afraid that I agree with Sonny being a boy's name. Sarah, Scarlett and

Stephanie
Seraphina
Saffron
Samantha

Sunny

BlazingWorld · 28/12/2023 17:35

I agree not Sonny as it’s a boy’s name. I also think saddling a girl with Sunny is asking for trouble when she is a sullen teen. I knew a Serenity who was the most argumentative child I had ever come across.
MN will hate this, but how about Sunday with Sunny for short?
I do love S names, but my favourites are Sophie, Samantha, Sylvie, Sarah (which you already have!), Seren.

MaloneMeadow · 28/12/2023 18:40

Sunny, Sonnie, however you want to spell it is ridiculous. By the time she’s a teen she will not thank you for it. You’re naming a human, not a golden retriever

How about Sasha?
PP suggestion of Saffron is nice + Saffie as a nickname is lovely

I know a teenage girl Sunny and she loves her name. She's a very cool kid. Maybe it's not for everyone but these comments are ridiculous.

NoKateMoss · 28/12/2023 18:50

Ps. Saffie is a shit name but each to their own.

KirstenBlest · 28/12/2023 19:21

How about Susanna nn Sunny?

trainboundfornowhere · 28/12/2023 20:05

I think Sunny is the best spelling but also think Sunny sounds masculine.

Sunny is the best spelling for a girl (Sonny for a boy), but honestly it sounds so out of place next to Sarah and Scarlett.

resm · 28/12/2023 21:31

I know a Sheira (pronounced Sheer-a) which I think really goes with your kids names. Another suggestion would be Sophia/Sofia.

Sarah, Scarlett & Sheira.
Sarah, Scarlett & Sofia

I don’t think Sonny in any spelling suits a girl. It also reminds me of the firelighter brand Sunny Jim.

theduchessofspork · 28/12/2023 22:57

Sonny (spelt anyway) is very much a boy’s name so I wouldn’t. It’s also odd with your other daughter’s names which are much more established

Susannah nn Sunny would work

Or

Sage
Sorrel
Sophie
Sylvie
Seren
Stella
Susannah
Serena
Saskia
Sabrina
Selina
Sabina
Safina
Seraphina

Theoldwoman · 29/12/2023 04:21

Sarah and Scarlett are perfectly fine names, but to me, Sunny is definitely a boys name.

Growing up, I think she would despise her name, if her sisters had lovely names and she didn’t.
