A friend has sisters called Emma and Zara.
Love Emma, Zara is ok, Juniper sounds like a pet's name

BackAgain2023 · 16/12/2023 17:57

Emma is beautiful and would have been my choice for a girl - that, or Rachel

Thereisnoname · 16/12/2023 17:59

I have a Zara and know both an Emma and Juniper.
I like them all, Emma I'd say is a safe bet not commonly used now but a bit bland.
I really like Juniper, especially Juni for everyday, hadn't come across it at all until I'd met the one I know.
I like Zara but I'm not actually blown away by it, it just fitted as the type of name we needed.

Seamist22 · 16/12/2023 18:09

I love Emma - such a timeless classic that suits all ages, not currently over-used, doesn’t need to be shortened all the time (but an affectionate “Em” or “Emmie” is sweet).

Zara is nice too - well known, not too commonly used, doesn’t need a nn, a great name. Not really a classic but not a short term faddy name either.

Juniper isn’t to my taste.

squeekychicken · 16/12/2023 18:15

Emma is lovely. Not keen on the other two.

Mayhemmumma · 16/12/2023 18:15

One of my favourite names is June so I'd go for juniper from that list

theduchessofspork · 16/12/2023 18:42

Juniper is too twee - Juno and June are both nice though

Emma is a classic

Zara is having a moment

Wednesday6 · 16/12/2023 18:51

I like all 3

HuntingoftheSnark · 16/12/2023 18:57

I love Juniper

SundayGirl86 · 16/12/2023 19:01

I’m usually pretty straightlaced when it comes to choosing names but I love Juniper. I’d go for Juno as a diminutive though.

MissBuffyAnneSummers · 16/12/2023 19:01

Emma

Juniper is awful

tokesqueen · 16/12/2023 19:20

Zara.
Juniper lol.

Ternbeach · 16/12/2023 20:05

I don’t really love any of them sorry.
Juniper is a very faddy name and will sound very dated in a few years. I do love June, nickname Junie though.
Zara is too the clothes shop, Emma is a bit dull.

shoopshoopdedoo · 17/12/2023 15:08

I like Emma and Zara.

I’m not keen on Juniper at all. It seems very 2023 - so many baby Junipers at baby group and nursery. I’ve not come across a baby Emma. I like Juno or Junie as a nickname for June, though.

BoleynMemories13 · 17/12/2023 19:35

Emma is lovely, a classic name you can't go wrong with.

Zara is ok but doesn't excite me. I much prefer Lara.

Juniper isn't for me at all. I can see this becoming really faddy.

Denimdenimdenim · 17/12/2023 19:48

Juniper has the edge for me. Although, I feel it's a name you definitely have to suit. I couldn't be a Juniper but I know people who would suit that name perfectly.

Posted too soon - absolutely love the name Emma. Classic.

peaceinourtime · 19/12/2023 15:29

It you want the child to be called Juni, name her Juni

Newnamesameoldlurker · 19/12/2023 15:30

Juniper is delightful

This. Delightful! Love it

KateJW95 · 20/12/2023 22:35

You can't go wrong with Emma. It's a classic.

Zara is not to my taste, though I think it is becoming popular.

My favourite is Juniper. It has a wonderful meaning. I like Juni as a nickname too.

Sturnidae · 20/12/2023 22:37

I love Juniper! I have a Juno who gets called Juni, Juniper was on my list for her too though. Zara is lovely, and Emma is timeless.

user1477391263 · 20/12/2023 22:57

Another vote for Zara! Bit of style and dash, but reasonably classic (it's been used occasionally for the last half century or so) and everyone knows how to pronounce and spell it. And it's always cool to have a Z as an initial.

Emma is inoffensive but SO, SO boring and will blur into all the Emilys, Emilias, Emlyns, Esmes, Ellas etc. that are around. It really is just dull as dishwater. I know several very nice Emmas so feel a bit bad saying that, but you may as well just call your child "girl" or "daughter."

Juniper is wacky sounding and sounds like the name for a pet.

NameChange30 · 20/12/2023 23:14

Emma is my favourite.

Not Zara, makes me think of the shop and I don't like the sound of it either.

I'm not usually a fan of super unusual names but I do like Juniper, Juno for short. Perhaps give her a "safer" middle name just in case she prefers to use that.

Swishyfishy · 20/12/2023 23:16

All nice but Zara is my fave

Daisybuttercup12345 · 20/12/2023 23:19

I love Emma ❤️

BebbanburgIsMine · 20/12/2023 23:21

I like Juniper

Not Juni or Juno though, I hate shortened names, and don't allow anyone to shorten it, or those of my DDs!

Emma is pretty too, so is Zara, but my least favourite of the three.
