Aoife or Rose?

Aoife Rose is a strong contender, but I really love Rose on its own too and don't want to 'use it up' as a middle name in case I ever had another girl...

Both are beautiful names, out of the two I'd probably go for Rose. It's a classic, timeless name!

Danielle9891 · 14/12/2023 21:22

I love Aoife, it was our 2nd choice but we went with Erin and her middle name is Rose.

fruitbrewhaha · 14/12/2023 21:24

Rose. I’m not a fan Aoife.

DidiAskYouThough · 14/12/2023 21:25

Mix both- Roise, rhymes with josh-ah/eh

GreatGateauxsby · 14/12/2023 21:25

Aoife all day long for me.

MariaVT65 · 14/12/2023 21:29

Rose. Aoife is something i can’t spell without checking it a few times.

Ineedhelp1981 · 14/12/2023 21:32

I taught an 'Aoife' - one of the loveliest, kindest pupil I've ever had the pleasure of teaching. So it's Aoife for me!

RabbitsRock · 14/12/2023 21:33

I don’t know how to prounounce Aoife. Rose is lovely.

Eef ah

Love them both, but I'd go for Rose.

MissBuffyAnneSummers · 14/12/2023 21:37

Rose.

Aoife will spend her life correcting spelling and pronunciation

Nadal1966 · 14/12/2023 21:42

Personally I love Rose . My husband couldn't agree on a name for our first baby and unnamed for around a week after his birth. We both chose a completely different name to the names we both orginally liked. Just an idea, perhaps wait to the birth and see which name she suits. I looked at my gorgeous 10lb baby boy and thought no he didn't look a Jack to me, and we decided on a completely different name.

Doublebiscuit77 · 14/12/2023 21:47

Aoife

Alwaystired2023 · 14/12/2023 21:48

Aoife 💕

FinallyFinalGirl · 14/12/2023 22:10

I love Aoife. It's one of my favourite names in the world but unfortunately my husband knew an Aoife he didn't like and just couldn't get past it so we picked different (and equally beautiful) names for our daughters.

MadeForThis · 14/12/2023 22:28

Love Roise. Pronounced Rosh-ah

theduchessofspork · 14/12/2023 23:47

Rose

I don’t mind Aoife, but Eve is nicer (but way overused so don’t)

ChanelNo19EDT · 14/12/2023 23:52

I'm Irish but I. Going to say Rose! Love Roisín too, or Rosie. Too many Aoifes

SM4713 · 14/12/2023 23:59

Rose

Classic, lovely and even non- English speakers can likely spell/pronounce it.

ColleenDonaghy · 15/12/2023 00:15

I think things have moved on a little but for a while there it seemed all little girls were Ava, Eva, Eve, Evie, Edie, Ella, Ellie, Elle, Isla, Ada etc. Aoife fits in with those vowel-consonant-vowel names and becomes a little anonymous because of it IMO.

Enko · 15/12/2023 00:56

Aoife. By far. Very biased mine is 20. Doesn't ever care people can't spell her name so I always roll my eyes at that "negative"

I dont like Rose much prefer Rosa if we have to go in that direction. Rose for me is plain. A bit dull. Sorry.

VanillaImpulse · 15/12/2023 09:40

Rose - simple and classic.
Aoife - will just be a pita constantly telling people how to pronounce and spell. It looks like the word knife to me as well, random fact 😄

QuackyDuckMcDucky · 15/12/2023 13:02

Tbh Rose as a middle name is dull and overused as every girl has it. And there are so many Evie/Ava/Ivy/Eva Roses.

lavenderjump · 15/12/2023 16:03

Aoife. Rose I find a bit dull

frogswimming · 15/12/2023 16:49

Roisin?

HomburgandTrilby · 15/12/2023 17:19

Aoife. Rose is a bit wallpaper-y.
