My little girl is due very soon, and I'm having difficulty choosing a name combination

I've narrowed it down to three:

Jessie Maeve
Harper Maeve
Jessie Maeve Harper

Is having two middle names too much?

My surname is Williams, if that helps

Thank you!

I think Jessie Maeve Williams is really lovely.

Don't like Harper at all, sorry. Sounds a bit clunky when put together with the other names.

herbygarden · 13/12/2023 23:46

I really like Jessie Mauve too!

LaurieStrode · 13/12/2023 23:59

Harper is clunky. Sounds like a whisky-swilling detective from the 1950s.

JMW is great.

What about Maeve Harper Williams.

time4aNC · 14/12/2023 00:19

I really like Jessie Maeve, cute and spunky.

Halloween Wtf GIF

Jessie Maeve Harper Williams sounds lovely.

Maeve has always been a favourite of mine and I really like Harper as a name. I think it all rolls nicely along with a warm and friendly feel.

Full disclosure: ds has 2 middle names. In the end I liked both enough to not want to have to choose - although it did feel a little extravagant at the time!

I realised shortly after registering his birth that I had completely unwittingly chosen an exact acronym of my df's four initials 😍

LauderSyme · 14/12/2023 00:23

OMG I did NOT mean to post that gif - sorry!!

Birdsongsinging · 14/12/2023 00:28

I like Maeve more than Jessie. Like Harper too.

theduchessofspork · 14/12/2023 00:34

I like Jessie

So Jessie Maeve

I don’t mind 3 names but don’t think Harper especially works here

AutumnColours9 · 14/12/2023 00:48

Jessie Maeve

Jessie Maeve

Sorry to appear ignorant but how is maeve pronounced

mathanxiety · 14/12/2023 02:29

It's pronounced to rhyme with Dave, wave, save...

pnutter · 14/12/2023 02:45

Maeve Williams

Doublebiscuit77 · 14/12/2023 07:44

Another vote for Jessie Maeve.

ginteio · 14/12/2023 08:46

None of these are my taste, but Jessie Maeve flows the best I suppose.

Thank you :)

All of the names have a special meaning for me. Funnily enough, the two middle names would honour both my brother's and late grandma's initials (MJW and MHW).

(Oh, and the GIF really put a smile on my face when I woke up this morning!)

Thank you everyone for the comments!

Jessie was the first name I thought of, but I had some really negative feedback. This thread has reassured me!

I think just Maeve Williams sounds lovely.

Twazique · 14/12/2023 09:25

Love Maeve Harper Williams!

Mumofgirls2017 · 14/12/2023 09:44

Harper maeve

preggo39 · 14/12/2023 10:01

Why not go with Jessica? Then she's got more choice. I'm close with a Jessica and she insists on being called Jessica - she really dislikes the nicknames.

Jessica is a beautiful name!

MargotBamborough · 14/12/2023 10:06

I like Jessie Maeve the best but I would go for Jessica on the birth certificate and use Jessie as a nickname.

Love the name Jessica.

Don't like Harper at all, it sounds like "harpie" to me.

SleepingStandingUp · 14/12/2023 10:10

Jessie Maeve Def flows best. I love Harper but after Jessie Maeve it sounds surnamey and then you add Williams it sounds like a double barrelled surname.

HOWEVER

how often do we full name someone? So if Jessie Maeve Harper Williams gets in all the names you love, go for it. Most of the time she'll just be Jessie Williams. It's only when she hits tantrum age and then teens when you'll have to shout the whole thing out!!

Mielbee · 14/12/2023 12:24

Of your list, Harper Maeve. But like others, I'd suggest that Maeve Harper Williams is lovely. I do like the flow of Jessie Maeve but thinking of her as an adult at work - will she want to be called Jessie?

NewbieTwentyFour · 14/12/2023 12:24

I came to say this too! Maeve Harper.
