A brother for Isabel - which one?

Found out we’re having a little boy and struggling to pick a name!

We have a daughter named Isabel.

Would love to know which of the below people think works best as a sibling pair?

William
Theodore
Henry
Leo (DH likes Leonard but I’m not too sure)

We had also discussed: Sebastian, Nathan, Arthur, Albert, Ethan and Otto but only one of us is keen on each, so we seem to be narrowing on the above.

In general, we like fairly classic names, and bonus if it can work in other languages (German, Spanish). Surname is two syllables and starts with a “Z”.

Popularity isn’t too much of a concern for us (as you can tell given our daughter’s name).

Thanks in advance!

I have an Isabel ! I think Leonard is a great name

lemmein · 09/12/2023 05:15

Theodore is my favourite from your list. Not keen on William or Leonard.

Gabriel, Elijah, Sebastian and Benjamin would go with your little girls name too.

Pinky2023 · 09/12/2023 20:43

Nickname for edward would possibly be Teddy also if you like that

ImNotSayingAWord · 09/12/2023 20:47

My Isabelle has three brothers - Joseph, Oliver and Oscar 🙂

Theo was a name choice on my list for the last two boys.

Rjh76 · 09/12/2023 20:58

I like them all, but I love Henry. I have one!

Rjh76 · 09/12/2023 21:01

I like Edward too. Could he be a Ted?

HuntingoftheSnark · 09/12/2023 21:14

Another one who loves Henry - and it goes perfectly with Isabel.

Tristan
or Zander?

I really like the name Theodore and it was our boy name lined up for DD2. However, we’re now expecting a DS and have gone for something else as it didn’t fit with our DDs’ names and it is so unbelievably popular right now.

I like Leo from your list but also really popular.

mathanxiety · 10/12/2023 16:18

They're all nice.

If 'international' is your top priority, I'd go for Leo. It also goes very well with Isobel.

If 'names that go together well' is more important, then you could honestly put the names in a hat. They're all lovely names imo. (I'm not keen on Leonard though).

Suggestions:
Oscar
Alexander
Hugo
Raphael
Louis
Frederic
Barnaby
Anthony
Zachary

I have a Theodore and an Isobel so that’s my vote ☺️☺️ “Theo and Izzy”

Newsenmum · 13/12/2023 11:50

I actually quite like William. It’s pretty timeless and not as trendy as Leo.

purpledahlias · 13/12/2023 12:21

The issue with William is that it contains Willi. I'm not keen.

I prefer Leo(nard)
