Middle name for Tabitha

I am currently pregnant with a baby girl who I am pretty sure we want to call Tabitha.

Which middle name do you like best?:

  1. Tabitha Sylvie
  2. Tabitha Primrose
  3. Tabitha Daphne
  4. Tabitha Florence

Any other suggestions welcome if you can think of anything that flows nicer. No names starting with W or ending in a -el/ell/elle though because of our surname.

Her older sister is Matilda Clementine.

TIA xx

I don't think she needs a middle name with a strong first name.

DustyLee123 · 18/11/2023 07:36

On your list I prefer Florence, but I like middle names to mean something, like a family name.

10Pontipines · 18/11/2023 07:36

I would like her to have one though because he sister has one :) Stops any potential awkward conversations. My Dad doesn’t have a middle name, but his sister does and they have talked about this several times at family gatherings!

Florence or Daphne are nice. But I’d go for a one syllable one. Ruth? Jude? Pearl if you like nature ones?

I think the first three on your list are too flowery and a bit too try hard sorry- they are very "trendy". Florence is nice but very popular.

How about:

Tabitha June
Tabitha Iris
Tabitha Kate

fuckssaaaaake · 18/11/2023 07:51

Rose

stillholly · 18/11/2023 07:52

Florence would be my preference then - even as an alternative first name.

fuckssaaaaake · 18/11/2023 07:52

God I'm shit I didn't even read the op. Haha thought you were asking for suggestions. Well Florence is my fave name but if I'm honest they're all a mouthful together that's why rose sprung to mind. But whatever you choose will be lovely and special to you . Tabitha is so nice

Jewelspun · 18/11/2023 07:54

I would make the middle name one syllable.

Rose as already mentioned.

Anne.

May.

Grace

Eve.

Pearl.

ChickenBhunaandChips · 18/11/2023 08:43

Not Rose/Grace/May. Sooooo overused and dull.

Mysa74 · 18/11/2023 08:48

Form your list I'd probably choose Florence or Daphne but if you want something that flows go for something shorter.
My 3 year old is Tabitha Alana, (pronounced Ah lar na).
Tabitha is such a pretty name and gets so many compliments Smile

Misspotterscat · 18/11/2023 08:54

Tabitha primrose or Tabitha Florence from your list but the first name that came into my mind was Tabitha Violet

QueenofDrudgery · 18/11/2023 08:55

Anne

KirstenBlest · 18/11/2023 09:40

Florence

I would not make the middle name one syllable. Rose, Anne, May, Grace, Eve, Pearl etc are filler middle names.

MrsMoastyToasty · 18/11/2023 09:42

Anne
Jayne

jadey1991 · 18/11/2023 15:31

Tabitha-Rose

EarlofShrewsbury · 18/11/2023 15:33

The 1 syllable J / N sounding names are lovely.

Joan
Jean
Jane
June

They just flow really nicely with Tabitha.

Cheepcheepcheep · 18/11/2023 15:52

I don’t agree you need something short - my DD has a 3 syllable first name and her middle name is Elizabeth so 4 syllables! And you have a 3/3 combination with your eldest.

Love the name Tabitha. My first thoughts were Tabitha Catherine, Tabitha Imogen or Tabitha Victoria but of your choices I like Tabitha Primrose (followed by Sylvie).

Gnomegnomegnome · 18/11/2023 16:48

I’m Tabitha Annie (childhood nickname of Tabby Annie!).

I love Sylvie from your list.
