A little brother for Matilda.
Please help us decide. Which do you think is nicer… Theodore (Theo) or Reuben?

Thanks

Theodore

AngelAurora · 05/11/2023 12:52

I love both but Reuben for me, Theodore will be shortened to Theo.

peaceinourtime · 05/11/2023 12:57

Reuben, Theodore will just be another Theo of which there are thousands.

IsThePopeCatholic · 05/11/2023 13:21

Reuben. Fab name.

DojaPhat · 05/11/2023 13:29

Theodore is a lovely name. For some reason your name selections remind me of Matheus and Moses.

Toddler101 · 05/11/2023 13:30

Reuben!

LambMomo · 05/11/2023 13:44

Theo!

I know so many Reubens.

Alloveragain3 · 05/11/2023 13:45

There are so many Theo / Theodore/ Teddies around me in London.

Lovely name but incredibly popular.

MaloneMeadow · 05/11/2023 14:03

Theodore always reminds me of Alvin & The Chipmunks! I know some lovely little boys with the name but just can’t get it out of my head. The Dutch version of Theo (pronounced Tay-oh) is quite nice

Love Reuben, it would be on my list if I had a boy

KirstenBlest · 05/11/2023 14:16

Reuben is by far the better of the two but I don't really like Reuben and dislike Theodore.

theduchessofspork · 05/11/2023 17:05

Reuben - it’s popular but every second toddler I know is Theo, Theodore or Teddy (full name Theodore) right now

eatdrinkandbemerry · 05/11/2023 17:06

Reuben by a mile ( there's millions of Theo's around my area)

SkaneTos · 05/11/2023 17:42

Both Theodore/Theo and Reuben are lovely names!

I think Reuben is more unusual.

Kiwiburgh · 05/11/2023 19:08

Both are lovely but agree Reuben is much less common. I've met so many toddlers called Theo or teddy.

Nellle · 05/11/2023 19:13

They are both lovely names, but Reuben. Theos are absolutely everywhere.

DreamingInPhosphorescence · 05/11/2023 19:22

I love them both but Reuben is relatively common around here and I don’t know any kids named Theodore. Seems to be the opposite in most places though!

Mumaway · 05/11/2023 20:04

Theo. Reuben is nice, but sounds like an overly religious name (not an issue if that suits you of course!)

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 05/11/2023 20:05

Reuben, I love roo for short. My husband vetoed it.

Eh? Theodore literally means gift from god.
Edit: I really like Reuben. Like Theodore too, but put off by its popularity and its obvious religious connotations.

OopsieeDaisy · 05/11/2023 21:58

I like Theodore but as others have said, there are just SO MANY Theodores, Theos, Teds and Teddy’s which would put me off. That said, I seem to have an irrational dislike of Reuben although that is also becoming increasingly popular where I live.

Theoldwoman · 05/11/2023 21:59

Reuben definitely.

RuthW · 05/11/2023 22:15

Reuben

There are hundreds of Theodores, Theos and Teddys

princefamilypaper · 06/11/2023 08:46

Theo

Reuben
