Theodore or Reuben

Please help us decide. Which do you think is nicer… Theodore (Theo) or Reuben?

I love both but Reuben for me, Theodore will be shortened to Theo.

Reuben, Theodore will just be another Theo of which there are thousands.

Theodore is a lovely name. For some reason your name selections remind me of Matheus and Moses.

There are so many Theo / Theodore/ Teddies around me in London.

Theodore always reminds me of Alvin & The Chipmunks! I know some lovely little boys with the name but just can’t get it out of my head. The Dutch version of Theo (pronounced Tay-oh) is quite nice

Reuben is by far the better of the two but I don't really like Reuben and dislike Theodore.

They are both lovely names, but Reuben. Theos are absolutely everywhere.

I love them both but Reuben is relatively common around here and I don’t know any kids named Theodore. Seems to be the opposite in most places though!

Theo. Reuben is nice, but sounds like an overly religious name (not an issue if that suits you of course!)

Reuben, I love roo for short. My husband vetoed it.

Edit: I really like Reuben. Like Theodore too, but put off by its popularity and its obvious religious connotations.

I like Theodore but as others have said, there are just SO MANY Theodores, Theos, Teds and Teddy’s which would put me off. That said, I seem to have an irrational dislike of Reuben although that is also becoming increasingly popular where I live.
