I miss naming babies!

I have two DC, one only 5 months. I’m definitely done with babies.

But I’m really sad I’ll never get the chance to name them again! I have so many good names left to use!

Anyone else?

I’m thankful for this board letting me do it vicariously.

I'm the same, and my youngest is 13!!

Mumoftwotoddlers · 23/10/2023 17:39

Same, I'm done at two, love both names we chose but I have about 4 more I love, we used one as a middle name for our youngest

What are your names?

RobynRuth · 23/10/2023 18:00

Same!!!!!

trying2decide · 23/10/2023 18:10

I'm the opposite!

37 weeks pregnant and poor baby girl is yet to have a name.
I'm just so indecisive and no name 'speaks' to me.
Any I think I like (Esme, Isabella, Sophia, Mia) are all very popular in my area, which puts me off.

DS is called Leo and I adore the name but there are 2 others in his small nursery.

I'd welcome any suggestions from you namers! :D

Labradoodlie · 23/10/2023 18:19

I’d like a Noor, a Yasmine and a Raya.

I’m glad (just from a names perspective) that I didn’t have any boys as I find them much harder.

Me too. I definitely don't want another child, and never had any disappointment at all over having two girls.

But I did really love the boy name we had picked out!

Orphlids · 23/10/2023 18:29

I think 70% of the reason I had a third child was because I wanted the pleasure of naming her.

This is what pets are for

FoodEtiquette · 23/10/2023 23:24

I used the only 2 names I had for my 2 DC. If we had had 2 children of the same sex, we would have been screwed! I had no back up.

I still regularly peruse this board though as I love names in general (for other kids, just not for mine). Maybe I'm the weird one!

StaringAtTheSunset · 23/10/2023 23:26

I was thinking the same. 😅

DramaAlpaca · 23/10/2023 23:27

Same. My youngest is 26 so that ship has definitely sailed Grin

I used a name I loved but didn't get to use for children on my dog.

SkaneTos · 23/10/2023 23:40

I do not have children, and I might not be able to.

But I love names! So I

  1. Hang out here, on the baby names board
  2. Ask about the background of the names of the children of my friends and family (only if they seem interested or open to talk about it, obviously)
  3. Discuss names with my friends, and my mother. Old names, new names, names that match, etc.
  4. Write stories where I can name the characters.
Watchthedoormat · 23/10/2023 23:57

I love my dcs names but wish I'd called them something different.
If I had my dc over again today then I'd have a Madeleine and an Evan.
Often daydream about whether my dc would be different at all if I'd used different names.
Yes, I'd like the opportunity to name someone again. Often daydream about this.

Fawful · 24/10/2023 00:00

Oh I also want a Noor, or Nour, it's my latest favourite name! I will never have one, but hey...
Sadly would not suit a cat v well, I feel

RoseWrites · 24/10/2023 17:32

Please give me me any names you have @Labradoodlie I'm 20 weeks pregnant and me and DH have no names for a boy. I didn't want to find out the gender at our scan next week but I will so I can either stop scouring the internet and arguing about boys names, or if it is a boy, realise we need to compromise/agree. I'm so desperate so hit me up!! :)

Labradoodlie · 25/10/2023 03:32

@RoseWrites

Casper James!

my youngest is 20 months and i'm 40 in february. 2 girls and a boy. people keep telling me no more now then? But i don't ever feel completely done with babies. I am very lucky that i conceive quite quickly and have to constantly be very careful with contraception. having 4 kids would totally bugger is up because we don't have the space (3 bed house) would have to change 2 cars too and I work in quite a demanding job. But still, i just don't feel done.

AgaMM · 25/10/2023 04:33

Give me some ideas for boy names! Baby due next week and we are clueless on the name.

Needs to be both a Middle Eastern and western name. Already been through the biblical names and there are none we can agree on!

Labradoodlie · 25/10/2023 07:51

Oooooh Middle Eastern names that work here are multiple speciality @AgaMM . How about….

Laith
Samir/ Samin / Samar
Raif / Rafi
Kasper
David / Dawood
Zac
Asher
Ishmael
Imran
Salim

I only have one and am generally very happy with that apart from my unused baby names! The names I wanted to use were Mara for a girl and Abel for a boy.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 25/10/2023 21:46

I know how you feel although for me I was more into choosing girl names and it’s a shame I won’t get the chance to use any girl names as I will just have boys.
