Sibling for Daisy

Looking for a baby girls name. Our daughter is called Daisy with the middle name James.

Current shortlist is
Charlotte
Penelope (Penny)
Alice
Juliette - unsure of this in our Scottish accent
Lola - husband thinks this is a dogs name
Pippa - husband doesn’t like this either

We still really like floral names such as Poppy/Rosa/Rosie but worry it’s a bit much having two floral names.

My grandma was a Rose and had sisters Daisy and Violet. Personally I think it's quite sweet.

I also know a subset of Pearl, Jade and Ruby.

Rose is a gorgeous name for a girl. Keep the flower theme if you both like it!

theduchessofspork · 22/10/2023 16:28

I think two flower names both ending in y is too much - but maybe Jasmine, Violet, Iris or Flora?

I like Charlotte and Juliet, am not mad about the others

I know a family with sisters Daisy, Poppy and Lily.

caringcarer · 22/10/2023 17:11

My sister's DGC are called Lily, Ivy, Primrose and Poppy. Floral names are lovely. What about Marigold to go with Daisy?

Walnuthhwip · 22/10/2023 18:24

I think pippa is a bit of a dogs name too, I’d go Philippa nn pippa if I was going to pick it. I think of the names you have so far Alice and Daisy are best together.

For other flower names what about violet? Or primrose? They’re slightly less obvious than rose or poppy.
or names with flower meanings
like Susanna or daphne
or variations of flower names, like Rosalie

Mumofgirls2017 · 22/10/2023 18:24

I’d choose Penelope or Alice.

Don't use Marigold it represents grief and morning in language of flowers.

Daisy is very sweet and girly.
flower names are nice but you will have a theme going ( I know a few families with multiple flower names children) .
If you want to avoid that go for something that complements Daisy but is different.

I love just Penny (instead of Penelope)
Or another flower name would be cute.

Daisy and Jasmine? Lily?

MaloneMeadow · 22/10/2023 22:21

Charlotte - Gorgeous, would be one of my top choices if I had another DD! Timeless and elegant. Love the nickname Lottie

Penelope (Penny) - Penelope is lovely but a bit of a mouthful for everyday. Really don’t like Penny as a nickname so that would put me off

Alice - Nice, no real nickname opportunities though

Juliette - A beautiful name but a bit dated for a child

Lola - I like it but have to agree with your husband! Would be lovely for now but a bit childish when she gets older

Pippa - Such a pretty name, another I heavily considered. We are a horsey family so the meaning in English really appeals. Unsavoury meanings in other languages though and one of DD’s friends named Pippa being made fun of and called Peppa Pig for years put me off!

My DD is Daisy and if I had another girl instead of boys she would have been Delilah.
