Hi everyone, currently pregnant with my fourth, not finding out the gender until birth. We have got Adelie (7), Clementine (5), and Elliott (3).

Here are our options:

GIRL
Marlowe
Elouise
Madigan
Florence
Violet
Rosie

BOY
Harvey
Frankie
Sebastian
Atticus
Darcy
Jude

Please let me know which ones you think sound the best with my other three, OR any other name suggestions you have!

GIRL
Marlowe - too surnamey to go with others
Elouise - lovely
Madigan - is this made up?
Florence - lovely
Violet - lovely
Rosie - too nicknamey compared with others

BOY
Harvey - goes fine
Frankie - again too nicknamey
Sebastian - lovely
Atticus - lovely
Darcy - too girly
Jude - too girly although I know it's a boy's name.

Sebastian and Florence or Violet would be my choice.

Sebastian
Florence or Violet

No to the others. Could maybe do Eloise but don’t like the spelling Elouise at all.

LadyWithLapdog · 21/10/2023 06:57

Eloise and Harvey or Sebastian would go well.

kiwiandcherries · 21/10/2023 06:58

I would go with Florence from your girls names. Least favourite from the list is Violet. Love it as a name but it sounds too similar to Elliott when you say the four names in a list.

I like Sebastian and Jude from your boys names list.

Thanks! Madigan is actually a family name; my Mother in law's middle name haha.

I like Florence. I think Rosie is nicknamie but Rose and other Rose based names are nice and would go. Eloise and Violet are similar to Elliott. I like Jude and Sebastian.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 23/10/2023 17:59

Sebastian and Florence xx

Pemba · 24/10/2023 09:43

Eloise is gorgeous (there is no U in it - sorry! - it's not connected to the name Louise, has a different origin). Rosie is quite nice (prefer Rosa or maybe Rose for the official name though). I don't mind Violet (Viola would be lovely).

I don't like Marlowe or Madigan at all, far too surnamey. Your other girls have proper girls names.

For a boy Sebastian or Jude would be lovely.

MaloneMeadow · 24/10/2023 12:08

Marlowe - awful, a surname not a name for a little girl
Elouise - not bad if spelt Eloise
Madigan - same as Marlowe
Florence - nicest of the bunch, love the nickname Flo
Violet - alright
Rosie - too common

Harvey - not bad but more for a dog
Frankie - not a fan
Sebastian - a personal favourite
Atticus - old man name
Darcy - too girly
Jude - really like

Enko · 24/10/2023 12:12

What about Eloisa rather than Elouise? I am btw another one who prefer the Eloise spelling.

I quite like Madigan and if it is a link to family then I like it even more.

Of the boys option the only one I like is Sebastian the others are not my style.

miniaturepixieonacid · 26/10/2023 00:00

Your children have beautiful names.

GIRL
Marlowe - I quite like it. I don't think it matches your other names (unless your Elliott is a girl)
Elouise - like it, prefer the spelling Eloise
Madigan - never heard this. Sounds like a cross between Madeleine and Madison. I prefer both of those to Madigan but it's ok. As it's a family name, I'd maybe stick it in the middle.
Florence - quite like it.
Violet - not keen. It looks and sounds too much like violent to me.
Rosie - like it but maybe not fancy/'cool' enough to go with your others.

BOY
Harvey - like it. Not sure it goes with the other names.
Frankie - not keen. It's too nicknamey for me but I really don't like Frank or Franklin. I quite like it for a girl, short for Francesca.
Sebastian - quite like it.
Atticus - really like it in a trendy, 'different' kind of way. And love the literary nod.
Darcy - I like Darcey for a girl. I've never met a boy Darcy. It's quite nice though. I just think people would assume he is a girl.
Jude - quite like it.
