I think so. I like it.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 11/10/2023 14:27

Yes of course. I work in a school and know two boys called Zephaniah. What make's you question using it out of interest?

toastofthetown · 11/10/2023 17:09

Zephaniah is very usable. Old Testament names are very popular at the moment. With the rise of Isaiah, Ezra, Noah, Elijah et. al. Zephaniah (though more unusual than the other choices) fits in. Zeph is a cute and accessible abbreviation too. I imagine many people will think of Benjamin Zephaniah.

Sounds good! I also know a little Zephie who is very cute.

Benjamin Zephaniah is who I immediately thought of. Lovely name. Easy to pronounce, spelled phonetically, and Zeph is a lovely abbreviation.

My brother used to be BZ's postman!

There’s a Zeph in dd’s class. I don’t know if he’s a Zephyr or Zephaniah though. It’s not my cup of tea, but it’s certainly usable and won’t raise any eyebrows.

Great name

KohlaParasaurus · 11/10/2023 19:55

Yes, it's fine, a solid traditional name, uncommon but not unique.

AnOldCynic · 11/10/2023 19:59

Yes, lovely.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 12/10/2023 00:17

Well I don't know if a grown man would want to be saddled with it lol.

smilesup · 12/10/2023 00:20

I would struggle being called Zephaniah and I have a pretty unusual name.

peaceinourtime · 12/10/2023 13:03

Is Zeph pronounced like Jeff? It looks like it

WildCherryBlossom · 12/10/2023 13:08

Zeph rhymes with Jeff (like Zoë and Joey)

stickygotstuck · 12/10/2023 13:11

I think it's a beautiful name.
