Oren is the Welsh word for orange. Although I suppose it would still fit your nature theme if your child was called Orange.

crostini · 06/10/2023 02:57

Oakley or arlo.

mathanxiety · 06/10/2023 03:07

Rowan and Arlo are nice and go well with Douglas William.

(Not every source for meanings of names carries information you can rely on.)

Mumofgirls2017 · 06/10/2023 08:14

Rowan, Arden or Everett

peaceinourtime · 06/10/2023 14:22

Everett for sure. It’s lovely name

wingsofabird · 07/10/2023 12:31

If you like names that are even slightly unusual then don't pick Rowan @isthisallwehavetooffer I know quite a few under the age of five and Roman with an M is now in the top 20-30 names and still rising so it's very trendy and popular verging on overdone

KirstenBlest · 07/10/2023 13:01

Rowan isn't in the top 20 Babies called Rowan in England & Wales since 1996 (darkgreener.com) but Arlo is Babies called Arlo in England & Wales since 1996 (darkgreener.com).
The stats are for 2021.

Rowan might be in a class with a Roman, Reuben, Robin, Rory, Rohan and a girl Rowan.
Arlo might be in a class with a few Arthurs, Archies and Aria.

dressedforcomfort · 07/10/2023 15:24

Rowan goes really well with Douglas and William.... A lovely name!

dressedforcomfort · 07/10/2023 15:25

If you like Rowan and Oren, how about Owen?

Molly54320 · 07/10/2023 15:25

rowan or Reid

Imtootiredtothinkofausername · 07/10/2023 15:32

Sorry OP but I agree with most of the above that I don't like any of them particularly but Rowan would be the only passable one.
Douglas is a much nicer name!

calishire · 07/10/2023 16:03

Everett was my grandfather's middle name and I keep throwing it back at my husband as a possibility for our baby due in March because I absolutely love it. Right now, trying to push it for a middle name as he just keeps saying no 🙈

I love Reid and Rowan. Rowan is hugely popular so if you are looking for something more unusual I'd steer clear.

I don't care for the other names.

What about Pierce?

octoberfarm · 07/10/2023 16:04

Reid!

Pieceofpurplesky · 07/10/2023 16:18

Everett Douglas William is a fine, strong and very cool name

UsingChangeofName · 07/10/2023 16:23

I don't like any from your list.

I'd use Douglas or William for the first name (if you are definitely wanting both of those).

HuntingoftheSnark · 07/10/2023 16:25

One of DD's old nursery friends has just had a baby Oren, and I like it. However, sorry OP, I think Douglas is a great name and due a revival.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 07/10/2023 16:26

Love Oakley

PerspiringElizabeth · 07/10/2023 16:27

Rowan is practically common around here (know loads)

What about Alder, Asher?

Really like Everett.

Newuser75 · 07/10/2023 16:36

Rowen or oren are my favourites but they are all lovely names.

nameXname · 07/10/2023 19:22

OP by 'Oren' do you mean the Irish and Gaelic (Scottish) name 'Odhran' sometimes also spelled 'Oran'??
If not, as previous posters have said, you'd be naming your baby 'Orange'.

As to some of the supposed 'meanings' in your list, you really, really, really cannot trust baby naming websites. Behind the Name (https://www.behindthename.com/) is probably the most accurate, but even that is not always perfect.

FWIW Odhran/Oran was one of St Columba's followers at Iona. Legends tell how he was offered/volunteered as a human sacrifice in the foundations of St Columba's new chapel there - a rather terrifying mixture of Christian and pre-Christian practices. This is a brief summary:

Oran with a J surname like Johnson would sound like Orange Onson

DramaAlpaca · 07/10/2023 21:29

Reid or Rowan.

I'm not keen on the others, especially Everett.

PurpleOrchid42 · 07/10/2023 21:31

Oren is lovely.
