Alice or Lucy

Like both these names but can't decide- is one more popular right now?

Alice is more popular right now in England and Wales, but Lucy was more popular than Alice until the last ten or so years. So you child is less likely to share a classroom with a Lucy, but more likely to share a name in a workplace when she’s an adult is she’s called Lucy. But both names are popular, and she’s likely to know many other people with her name with either choice.

Perosnally I prefer Alice. Lucy is an insipid, wet name to me.

I prefer Lucy but not by much - they’re both nice names.

I think in the last data set, Alice was around 30 and Lucy was around 80.

Just had a Google and neither of them appear in the two top girls names lists that could find. I much prefer Lucy though. Never liked the name Alice for some reason

I love Alice. Lucy comes up on here a lot at the moment so I would say it’s definitely on the rise and will likely have many girls with the same name by the time she gets to school.

I know more Lucy's aged 5 - 10 (only 4 though so not loads) but more baby Alice's. I like both but prefer Lucy.

Both are lovely, classic names (my sisters are Alice and Lucy 😂) I love both names and they are both pretty, easily spelled, cute for a toddler and elegant for an adult woman. You can choose either! Which do you like better with the intended surname - Lucy Alice or Alice Lucy?

There are Lucies too, so combined both names would probably be similarly popular. Both nice though

Both equally lovely, can't go wrong. Alice feels gentler to me and Lucy is bright and energetic.
