Zara?

I like the name Zoe, DH likes Sarah. Both of these can’t be used due to close family members having or using those names.

Zara has come up a few times, and I feel like I’m slowly coming around to it. DH likes it too.

So I ask you, MN, what are your thoughts on it? Associations? Vibes?

(We don’t mind the store association or popularity level)

Really like it. Not common but not a faddy madey up name either.

MotherOfVizslas · 25/09/2023 20:43

I love Zara. It's on my list (although I'll never have anymore babies now I don't think😢💔)

JustMaggie · 25/09/2023 20:43

I like it too. I think it's classy!

Maybe your babies will have babies, and you can nudge the name onto them? That’s what my mother’s been doing 😂😂😂

My niece is called Zara. I love it. Beautiful name and not too popular.

SherbetLemonn · 25/09/2023 20:47

I really like it. Clearly a girls name, can’t really be shortened, can’t really be misspelled, feminine without being flowery (my personal tastes), suits a wee one as much as an adult.. all good to me!

HollyGolightly4 · 25/09/2023 20:48

Love it. Zara's are always wonderfully cool!

Nap1983 · 25/09/2023 20:50

I love it! I have a Zoe and if i had another girl (no way lol) id use Zara!

Juliedxx · 25/09/2023 20:53

Yeah I think it’s quite well-liked so a safe bet 😊 you’d struggle to find someone massively offended by it

April2024 · 25/09/2023 20:55

Thanks everyone! As DH and I are white British, do you think it would be considered offensive if we chose Zara considering it’s very popular amongst Arabic communities?

It's also the name of Princess Anne's daughter!

coxesorangepippin · 25/09/2023 21:06

It's the shop

NotABeliever · 25/09/2023 21:07

It's one if my favourite names. So classy and a bit unusual. Perfect!

EtiennePalmiere · 25/09/2023 21:07

I like it but maybe spell is Zarah to avoid the shop connotations?

mathanxiety · 25/09/2023 21:08

Lovely!

A very elegant name.

I also live Vera, Vita, and Zita.

LDNista · 25/09/2023 21:09
