Hi,

Our baby is due any day and we are still stuck on girl names. Please see below list of what names we like, ideally we would make it a double name.

We are not traditional in any way and to some the names may seem a little exotic or shortcuts of traditional names but we don’t mind.

Also we are both from different countries, Brazil and Germany so a lot of traditional names don’t work for our families as in that pronouncing can be completely different so we have already taken that into consideration.

We also like names that are for both genders.

Noa
Lia Dora ( both nicknames of grandparents, combined or separate )
Koah
Bella
Luana ( Brasilien name )
Mila
Coco ( baby loved chocolate drinks during pregnancy hence why we thought it’s a nice background story )
Kaya
Rio ( Girls name in Japan but for obvious reasons Brasilien :-))

Any feedback or suggestions/ thoughts are welcome.

Many thanks

first of all, congratulations!
I think Bella is a good name for your beloved one. i got few suggestions for you: Alice(means noble and has a German root), Freda( means peaceful and has a German root)

I like Lia Dora, Coco and Rio the most.

I don't particularly like Noa or Noah as a sound, and I know lots of them. Koah and Kaya and Mila I find a bit nothinging. I do like Bella and Luana.

Rio, coco, luana or kaya

Noa I don't know as a girls name, but as the boys name Noa (welsh spelling)/Noah (in English).

Is Koah Hawaiian?

Housenoob · 22/09/2023 12:43

They are all lovely except for Koah.

Coco is cute now but may not be great when they're an adult. I do love it though.

AnnaTK · 22/09/2023 13:19

Yes Koah is Hawaiian. I believe Luana is also although it’s a popular name in Brazil as well. The idea of Koah is off the nickname Coco as same as one brought up already Coco May not sound as nice for an adult.

Is Koah Hawaiian?

It's used a lot in Spanish culture, I think.

From a baby-naming website: Noa bears an exciting history that many parents might not be aware of. This feminine name is often confused with its ark-building counterpart, “Noah,” meaning “repose.” Though similar in pronunciation and spelling, Noa has a personality of its own and means “motion” or “movement” in Hebrew languages. Noa was also prominent in the Old Testament and was one of the five daughters of Zelophehad. As the story goes, Noa and her sisters influenced a new law that allowed women to inherit property, despite traditionary customs at the time. Paving the way for future generations, this gorgeous name is sure to inspire the trailblazer baby ready to form their own empire.

Koah reminds me of koala.
Luna or luana dog.
Bella overused.
Coco NO
I'd have Kaya, Katie or just Kay.

Rainbowqueeen · 24/09/2023 02:26

I love Noa and Kaya.

theduchessofspork · 24/09/2023 12:53

I like Dora

congratulations

Marie2023 · 24/09/2023 12:57

I like Liadora.

LilyLemonade · 24/09/2023 13:03

They are all nice. I like Lia Dora best, I think it works really well for a German-Brazilian and the combination of the two names makes it quite unusual while staying very simple.

Luana Coco or
Lia Dora
