Thoughts on each of these names?

Only one I personally like is Edith (Although I prefer the similar Meredith with the nickname Edie)

Carmen is actually lovely too but somehow only works if you have any Spanish heritage otherwise I wouldn't use it.

Apart from Isabelle, they all seem a bit dowdy to me. But they're pretty trendy for nowadays though

I like Genevieve best. Not keen on Margaret. Others are all nice. I'm a teacher and teach a LOT of Isabelles!

Edith far and away my favourite out of all of those

I love Matilda and Genevieve. One of my brownies had that name and she's a lovely girl

Hate Edith, it's an old lady's name.

Margaret is definitely due a comeback! I love it. Could shorten to Maggie or Margie!

Or Margo, Daisy, Rita, Greta

Carmen - this actually my name! I like it, don’t hear it very often.
Margaret - I like Maggie but not Margaret
Isabelle - I like the sound but I would choose a less frilly spelling eg Isobel/Isabel
Edith - I really like this
Genevieve - not keen
Matilda - I do like it but I also just think of the book/musical which is funny as I know others might just think of the opera when they hear Carmen!

Carmen - dislike and it sounds too like Karen.
Isabelle - I like but it is so popular
Margaret - strong name but it just isn’t pretty. But nickname Meg is very nice.
Edith - old person’s name and it isn’t pretty enough. Will be shortened to Edie and there are too many of them.
Genieve - old person’s name and I don’t personally like it
Matilda - I find this an ugly name and in the sane vein as Hilda.

Harriet is another suggestion?

I like Matilda and Isabelle best. Margaret shortened to Maggie is pretty cute too 🥰

Carmen-I don’t like it due to knowing 2 very unpleasant Carmens.
Margaret- too old lady and of a certain age for me. However, probably ok to use now as you will be younger than me.
Isabelle- beautiful name. I’ve lived thus babe for years as it’s a family name.
Edith- again a family name and I’ve loved this name long before it was fashionable due to personal reasons.
Genevieve- too much to live up to. Can’t see her fitting in at the local comp, sorry.
Matilda- meh.

I was going for sophisticated and strong with the name, beautiful but not frilly. When she comes down out of her latest tree climb I'm sure she'll have it nailed!

Genevieve - favourite by a LONG away whichever way you say it

Margaret - it’s pleasingly plain. She will end up Maggie or Margot etc

Corneila. It’s ok. Cordelia is much nicer and I’d have that up to number two.

Carmen. I wouldn’t call anyone it because it makes me think of rollers and the 50s in general, but I quite like it.

Matilda and especially Isabel and Edith are very overdone, so lovely though they are I would dump.

Love Margaret, Edith, and Carmen.

Isabelle and Genevieve are a bit frilly for my taste.

I like Matilda but feel it's a bit faddy.

Cornelia - lovely name.
