Charlotte or Celeste?

Which one do you prefer and why?

Charlotte..its timeless

Celeste it's a breath of fresh air from all the bland names 💕

Celeste because it means "heavenly" in French, and it has a unique quality to it that's refreshing and pretty.

charlotte, on the other hand, is overdone and a bit dowdy.

Both very French though, the English like French and Italian names, there are several Luca's in nieces year.

Celeste- lovely - but she will spend her life spelling it out for people.
And French people might associate it with Babar the elephant, whose girlfriend is Celeste!
Still prefer an unusual name though - so much more memorable.

Celeste…. It’s a bit more unusual while still being elegant. Charlotte is classic but a bit WASPy and prim.

Celeste. I also met a Celestine once which was really unusually but lovely.

We don't use the term WASP in England though we might next given that USAs biggest export is pop culture and the whole of western Europe is becoming more American each time I blink.

Celeste. Beautiful and has a nice meaning. Lots of variations; Celene, Celia, Selena.

I really like Charlotte and Lottie is adorable.

I like the idea of Celeste but in practice it sounds like a drug name (in fact I used to take a bcp called cilest) and doesn’t have a good diminutive, so doesn’t get my vote.

Definitely Charlotte, Celeste reminds me of a contraceptive pill I took years ago.

Charlotte. Celeste reminds me of Babar and My Little Pony (Celestia?), it's too cutesy for me. Charlotte can be Charlie, Lottie, Lotta...

For me Celeste reminds me of a rather wonderful singer

I like them both. Celeste is lovely, a nit more unusual.

Celeste, it reminds me of Babar the elephant but that's part of why I like it.

Charlotte.

It’s popular, yes, but this is for good reason. It sounds beautiful and is classic, timeless and has no bad associations. I do like Celeste, but agree it sounds like a contraceptive or antidepressant.
