Hello there! I was just wondering if you could possibly give me some thoughts on these? We can't use/don't like Eloise, Celestina/e.

Louisa, then Celeste. Louisa Celeste rolls off the tongue well.

And re a PP, how is "Louise" not classy? Lady Louise Mountbatten Windsor, Princess Louise from the past.

Eloise is also very sweet and classy like Louise.

LaLaLouella · 20/09/2023 14:06

Celeste is beautiful...

GaraMedouar · 20/09/2023 14:12

Definitely not Aurora ! I can’t say my r’s so it’s Orwarwa when I say it! So difficult!

I like Louisa best, then Celeste.

dressedforcomfort · 23/09/2023 09:15

Aurora can be quite difficult for some people to pronounce - especially little kids.

Celeste - don't like. It's the 'est' sound that's really unattractive to me. (I also hate names like Esther.)

Christina - OK. But she may get Tina as a NN, which is a bit dated.

Louisa. Nice. Under-used. Although I prefer Louise.

theduchessofspork · 23/09/2023 14:20

Louisa - a nice classic

Christina will end up Chris which is so dull

The other two are being overused and are a bit Disney

Cecile, Maria, Marianne, Caroline, Claudia, Adela, Cassia, Lydia might be others

Cressie2 · 23/09/2023 22:41

Louisa. It’s elegant.

Greyskiesbutyoucarryon · 13/01/2024 12:09

Christina, Louisa.

Easipeelerie · 13/01/2024 12:12

Louisa and Christina are nice.
Aurora is not the easiest to say. Celeste seems too flamboyant for my taste.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 13/01/2024 12:20

Louisa is nice.
Prefer Christianne to Christine/Christina.
Aurelia could be an alternative to Aurora.

AyeRightYeAre · 13/01/2024 12:22

Louisa

The rest are far too frilly

peaceinourtime · 13/01/2024 13:10

Louisa, it’s a beautiful name

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 13/01/2024 13:22

Aurora should be nice but unfortunately sounds really unpleasant imo.

Christina is very Christian (which you may like / prefer) and seems a bit dated to me. But it´s quite nice.

Celeste and Louisa are both lovely!

blackpanth · 13/01/2024 13:24

Aurora is a beautiful name. My daughters name 💖 not awful at all

DesertSnow · 13/01/2024 13:41

Louisa

Sundaysunshine21 · 13/01/2024 14:06

I personally love Aurora but probably wouldn’t use it as it is a bit Disney princess and of the moment. That said I knew a high flying lawyer called Aurora and I didn’t ever think her name didn’t suit her.

Christina I like, pretty, but not Disney. I’m not keen on Chris, Chrissy, Christie or Tina though.

I really like Louisa but personally don’t like Lou so I think that might put me off.

Celeste isn’t to my taste but objectively it’s a nice name and quite hard to shorten. I’ve only known one Celeste she’d be late twenties now.

Jobofferetiquette · 13/01/2024 14:20

Louisa definitely! Aurora is pretty but definitely very girly/princessy, not as versatile as the others. It is also hard to pronounce for kids. DD calls her Aurora friend "wa-wa".

Celeste I can't see past Babar and Christina is very middle aged to me.

RosaSkyes · 13/01/2024 16:36

I actually like them all! I think Celeste is beautiful and very underused

MacNut · 14/01/2024 12:29

I have a 9yo Louisa so that gets my vote 😊 She is very occasionally called Lou by family but have never heard anyone else use it (it doesn't bother me as a nickname anyway)

LongStoryLong · 14/01/2024 12:32

I love Louisa, but for some reason I prefer Luisa as a spelling. Used across Europe. I think I just like the look of the word.

itsannie86 · 16/01/2024 12:16

Louisa just sounds really frumpy to me.
Aurora is far too fantastical.
Christina is fine.
Celeste is fine.

KayEmAy · 16/01/2024 20:22
