Definitely Elise. Much nicer sound, Eliza sounds too harsh.

StillWantingADog · 07/09/2023 20:41

Like both! But vote for Elise

Gowlett · 07/09/2023 20:42

Eliza. It’s strong.
Elise just is meh…

WasIBad · 07/09/2023 20:46

Eliza. It was on my list for dd but DP vetoed it 😒 I love it.

Curseofthenation · 07/09/2023 20:47

Eliza, because it sounds stronger. Elise is too soft for my taste.

MrWoodhousecanfeeladraught · 07/09/2023 20:48

100% Eliza; traditional with a classic strength. I’m slightly biased because I know an Eliza who’s an absolutely lovely individual. Elise will come and go in my opinion but Eliza will remain a beautiful and popular name.

LauderSyme · 07/09/2023 20:53

Eliza unless your family speak French! To my ear, Elise sounds lovely said in a French accent but not so much with the heavy English stress on the 2nd syllable.

fearfuloffluff · 07/09/2023 20:54

Eliza is strong and 18th century sounding.

Elise is fine but sounds kind of french, not that that's a bad thing.

I prefer Eliza because the z is better than an s sound.

reporting4 · 07/09/2023 21:00

Eliza, it's pretty.

SM4713 · 07/09/2023 21:11

My best friend as a child was Elisse- pronounced Elle-eese. I prefer it over Eliza.

Olika · 07/09/2023 21:28

Eliza. Love it's if I had a baby girl now she would be called this.

Medlady · 07/09/2023 21:29

TinyKittenPaw · 07/09/2023 21:48

Eliza. Every girl is called Elise now.

I have not come across any Elises at all round here (NW England). And I work in (several) schools.

come across one or two Elizas

StillWantingADog · 07/09/2023 21:57

Oh and if you go with Elise then needs to be a soft s eg pron. Elyze. Not Elisse!

MichaelAndEagle · 07/09/2023 22:15

Which name do you prefer and why?

Elise is such a beautiful and classy name. I love it and wish it were used more as a first name.

BoleynMemories13 · 08/09/2023 02:50

Eliza is gorgeous, a strong classic name.

Elise feels very trendy in comparison. Plus I prefer the 3 syllables of Eliza, personally.

TaylorJoy · 08/09/2023 02:58

Eliza is pretty but sounds a lot like Elijah.
