Sister name - for Rowan and Joshua

RoRoIvy · 07/09/2023 08:12

5 days away from due date and still no name!
DH is Irish
I am British/ Dutch

currently with 2 boys -
Rowan and Joshua (as in the Joshua Tree)

expecting now a baby girl!!!!

I like Lilian but suspect it’s way too popular and people will think I should just stick with Lily (but we have a young Lily in the family already)

im so tired of hearing the same names like Olivia, Sophia etc. they are beautiful but like Lily, so, so popular now and it takes the magic away.

the classics are always nice but a bit dull at times… (Elizabeth, Charlotte)

old lady names? Edith, Gloria, Sylvia?

M names are not my favorite but keep coming up…
I am so stuck 😭
other options are:

Maisie
Ellory (is it too gender neutral?)
Anne (with middle name Augusta)?
Marian
Melody
Bellamie
Liana
Bryony

Thanks for helping.

Bryony is lovely and would be a good match with Joshua and Rowan. I also think Eden, Hazel or Iris are beautiful names.

TomatoSandwiches · 07/09/2023 08:28

Rowan, Joshua &

Alice
Bridie/Bridget
Caitlin
Dulcie
Emma

RoRoIvy · 07/09/2023 08:34

I love Iris too but it doesn’t go well with our family name.
Hazel is nice, just worried it’s too obvious as a tree name and kind of matchy- matchy with the boys…
Thanks for responding!

I agree Bryony is a nice match from your list. Also agree with pp that Eden would go well.

Rowan, Joshua and Matilda
Rowan, Joshua and Heidi
Rowan, Joshua and Zara
Rowan, Joshua and Freya
Rowan, Joshua and Mila

My first thought was also Matilda.
From your list, I love Ellory and also Marian.
I personally don't like Bryony as it sounds quite 1980s to me.

SplendidUtterly · 07/09/2023 09:51

I really like Lily too OP. I am also liking other posters suggestions such as zara, mila and matilda. Bryony seems a bit 80's like someone else said and will know doubt get shortened to Bryon (think Brian sounding)

17caterpillars1mouse · 07/09/2023 10:31

I really love Lillian but think ot would just hey shortened to Lily. Its actually dd2s muddle name for it can't be shortened.

Maisie - not a huge fan, it sounds a very young name, fine for a child

Ellory (is it too gender neutral?) - she would just become another Ellie

Anne (with middle name Augusta)? - i really like Anne. Its lovely

Marian - i quite like this one too but prefer Anne

Melody - ok
Bellamie - not a fan
Liana - ok
Bryony - love it. It was top of out list for dc3 but he's a boy

Bryony seems to have mixed reviews…
Juliette is lovely.
Theresa and Harriet also great.

Belladonna

SOSWhen · 08/09/2023 11:20

Rowan, Joshua and Violet
Rowan, Joshua and Georgia

I like Juliet from your list and Annie not Anne.

PieAndLattes · 08/01/2024 21:57

If you’re going for a tree theme then Willow is perfect and beautiful. If not, it sounds like you have a preference for strong, classical, names so one of the following might work:

Catherine
Helen
Julia
Anna
Elizabeth
Ruth
Alice
Frances
Imelda
Rachel
Laura

CornyCaleb · 08/01/2024 22:16

Sylvie means woods/forest so fits in with Rowan and Joshua but not in an obvious way.
Love Lillian as well.

gregtile · 08/01/2024 23:05

Bethany, Harriet, Clara
