Which spelling?

we can’t decide so which spelling would you use- Louie or Louis?

i’m worried people may pronounce Louis as Lewis?

Definitely Louis. I would always assume that it was pronounced Loo ee. As I think most people in the UK would.
Lewis is a different name.
Besides as long as you say how his name.is pronounced people will pronounce it properly.

I completely agree but there was a boy at school called Louis and he pronounced his name like Lewis so that worries me now! I’d prefer the Louis spelling if most people know it’s Lou-ee!

Louis. Prince Louis has largely put a stop to Louis-pronounced-Lewis.

The only time I've seen it spelt Louie, is on that gross "Gooey Louie" board game where you pull the bogeys out of the nose 🤢 so that doesn't give me good vibes. Louis looks much better.

I know a few Lewises (spg?), said that way, and they spell it Lewis.
