Sibling for Artie and Celia

HireAnArtist · 02/09/2023 13:40

We need names that work in Spanish and French but aren’t necessarily from these countries as we have middle names for our nationalities. Our dc are Arturo ‘Artie’ and Celia and we are now expecting another baby. Our list is below and needs reviewing but we also need suggestions as we do not ‘love’ the names just like them.

Alexia
Callie
Nola

Zack
Milo

I like Bruno but dh doesn’t. We also liked Zoe but we’re told it is dated.

To add more, the names need to work phonetically in all three languages. Preferably no English sounds like ‘gh’ or ‘th’ and no g’s, j’s due to variation in pronunciation. We’ve added Enzo to our boys list and we have decided on Callie for a girl so only boy options that we still require.

The names we have are Enzo, Zack/Zac and Milo.

We also like Elio, Fabio and Valentin but we are unsure whether they are too rare in Britain. We have a French surname so don’t want too stand out more than the dc do already.

Rafael
Hugo
Nicolas

I think Elio, Fabio and Valentin are all nice and straightforward; they obviously soubd foreign but not unduly unusual.

cherryassam · 03/09/2023 15:35

I think Elio and Valentin are lovely. Fabio for me just brings to mind the romance book cover model: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabio_Lanzoni

I realise this is likely a generational thing and won’t be something kids will pick up on at all.

Similar vibes:

Mateo
Teo
Ivo
Remy
Dorian
Fabian
Ludo
Ruben
Constantin
Corentin

Thanks everyone. We are no closer. Our two favourites are Zack and Elio but are not liking Elio as much due to it sounding less English.

Elio is getting more trendy in English speaking countries. It’s on a lot of boy names list and I’ve seen it mentioned a few times on name boards. It’s not as unheard of as you think, I imagine. Definitely not too unusual to use.
