Willow is lovely. Kiera is dated.

Me too. In my head it rhymes with tiara. I have to mentally correct myself every time I come across it.

Nice names separately but don't like them together - however my opinion doesn't matter! Call your child what you want

What does Keira Surname sound like? Middle names aren't used much.

I like it, and I agree most people will know the name through Keira Knightley.

I appreciate Ciara being the traditional Irish spelling, but in England you’d be subjecting her to a lifetime of correcting people. I think a lot of people would say some variation of See-ah-ra, Key-ah-ra or See-air-a.

Fine, but as Ciara. I also think Willow sounds slightly wobbly as a middle name, but agree with a pp, that how Ciara/Keira sounds with your surname is the important bit.

It's lovely, we thought about the same but went slightly different.

Think about the spelling of Keira - we use that version but always have a back of the mind feeling that I should have gone with a slightly different spelling.

Love both. I'm Irish but I don't mind the spelling either Ciara or Keira. I knew a child hers was spelt Kira. Another option although I'd prefer the Irish spelling than it.

Lovely name. I prefer the K spelling. It makes it easy to pronounce for me. The Willow part of the name is a bit irrelevant as nobody ever uses their middle name apart from new parents.

I don't know if it's my age but Ciara would be pronounced like the singer for me... sea airer so I wouldn't advise it but young people that would be your babies age may not have this problem? Teachers will.

As others have said, the important thing is that you and your partner like the name.

A few checks I always did on our shortlists is check the first name and surname sound good together, that their initials won't spell anything odd or rude, and that you are happy with the meaning of the names.

I also personally am not a fan of 2 long names, or 2 one syllable names (so we vetoed Anastasia Elizabeth, and also wouldn't have gone with Jade Rose for example) but this is just my personal feelings, and Keira Willow is perfect there as both two syllables.

What a lovely choice of name, I work in education and sometimes we get some interesting names so when people choose something simple and beautiful it always gets a thumbs up however I'm not trying to put down the more individual choices, it would be a boring world if everyone liked the same things...enjoy your baby xx

Irish posters: would you pronounce Ciara the same as Keira Knightly is generally pronounced?

Are you going to call her Keira Willow or is Willow her second name? I think it's nice but a bit of a mouthful if you are going to use both names. Just my opinion.

I'm Irish and Ciara is said the same as Keira.

I think the Italian name Chiara is Kee-ara.

As an English person, I would see Ciara and pronounce it Kee-ara. I can see I'm obviously wrong and lots wouldn't but I think if you are planning on it being pronounced Keh-ra then the OPs way is much clearer
