We've recently found out we're expecting another boy!

Current shortlist includes Oliver, Angus, Arthur and Rory. Our surname is Scottish. Thoughts?

Darren. Out of your list I like rory!

BoleynMemories13 · 26/08/2023 16:49

Oliver or Arthur go the best with Daniel from your list, imo.

I'm drawn to biblical with Daniel:-

Daniel and...

Thomas
Luke
Matthew
Adam
James
Joseph
Jacob
Peter
Isaac
Benjamin

Others which go nicely with Daniel:-

George
Alexander
Edward
William
Christopher
Marcus
Elliot
Frederick
Jack
Theodore

My first thought was William or Noah.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 26/08/2023 16:59

Oliver or Oscar.

TLDRfuckers · 26/08/2023 17:00

Angus from your list!

Thanks for these, I love quite a few from your lists but a lot of them are already taken. It's a very boy-heavy family!

Definitely Rory - the others all seem a bit common…. You can’t move for Arthurs and Olivers where I live.

(and I love the name Daniel)

Thank you! Oliver's never been that popular where we live but I do worry about that with Arthur.

I’ve got two sons (both with Scottish related names incidentally) and I think if we’d gone on to have a third child and had another boy then he definitely would have been a Daniel!

I love the NN’s Danny and Dan too, you can go wrong 👍

I really love the name Finn!

I’m not a fan of Finley, not even as an ‘official’ name on the birth certificate, but just Finn as a single name in its own right is a fab name! 😂

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 26/08/2023 17:38

James, Michael or Edward

We considered Daniel for our boys, but settled for another name as I'm not keen on Dan/ Danny.

I'd suggest:

Max
Lucas
Jasper
Matthew
Joshua
Milan (couldn't decide on pronunciation, otherwise this would've been DS2's name)
James (vv popular IME though)
Finn
Oliver
Sam

Nodeepdiving · 26/08/2023 18:45

Love Thomas and Edward too! And Ewan/ Euan, Owen.
