I'd probably pick them in the order you've written them.

Acornsoup · 26/08/2023 08:02

I like Gabriel

teenysaladandsniffofarose · 26/08/2023 08:02

I like Gabriel.

CurlewKate · 26/08/2023 08:11

Are you British living in Britain?

NamingaBoy · 26/08/2023 08:24

We live in Britain but have Spanish heritage

Gabriel

Cinai · 26/08/2023 08:26

Diego is great!

lemonyellows · 26/08/2023 08:29

Bruno for me

RomaniIteDomum · 26/08/2023 08:30

David.

GoodVibesHere · 26/08/2023 08:31

I like Mateo.

rainbowstardrops · 26/08/2023 08:32

I prefer Gabriel from your list

HedgehogOBrien · 26/08/2023 08:33

Mateo seems a great choice. If he ends up wanting to fit in he more he can go by Matt, for instance, but also has the option for something that stands out.

3isthemagicnumberrr · 26/08/2023 08:34

Mateo

AlltheFs · 26/08/2023 08:34

Bruno or David

I don’t particularly like the others.

Peony654 · 26/08/2023 08:37

Gabriel (Gabe) or Mateo (Mat)

Valerie23 · 26/08/2023 08:49

Diego - no.

  1. Gabriel - lovely.
  2. Bruno - no. Woof Woof!
  3. Mateo - lovely. Prefer Matteo after the lovely Matteo Salvini.
  4. David - lovely. My daughter when small had a lovely children's book called 'No David, no!'
beachsandseaicecream · 26/08/2023 08:51

I'd go for either Gabriel or Mateo.

NamingaBoy · 26/08/2023 08:52

Matteo is Italian spelling Smile

Thanks very much, we did think Gabriel would maybe work best here. Same for David but realise it's a bit dated here. Just not sure if we wanted something a bit more obviously Spanish

Surprised how many dogs here are Bruno, big shame! Diego was a name I thought I'd always use for a boy

Mateo :)

as a pp suggested it can be shortened to Matt/matty etc
we chose our baby’s name because it could be shorted if wanted to. I’ve always liked that my name could be shortened so wanted the same for our baby.

but Mateo is lovely 🥰

Yoyoban · 26/08/2023 08:55

In order of preference (from best to worst)

Mateo
Gabriel
David
Bruno
Diego

I like the first three, I dislike the last two

Fivebeanchilli · 26/08/2023 09:00

Diego - I like this but the first thing that springs to mind is Dora the Explorer. And then Maradonna. I do like it though.

Gabriel - I love this. I have a Spanish friend with a ds with this name. She pronounces it the Spanish way and everyone else the English way though. Not sure if that would bother you?

Bruno - no. I think everyone would assume you've named him after Bruno Mars.

Mateo - I think this is gorgeous.

David - lovely. And usual nowadays. But would you want it pronounced the Spanish way (which is nicer imo). Again that could lead to annoyance/confusion.

Mateo is my favourite followed by Gabriel.

Whatsthepoint1234 · 26/08/2023 11:30

Diego - to me it conjures an image of a cool calm surfer

nannapat58 · 26/08/2023 11:32

Xavier

All my kids have boring names so you won't be surprised... my order is (most to least liked)

David, Mateo, Diego or Gabriel, Bruno

If you're after names that work in Spanish & English, I also like the other boring ones, like Luis, Miguel, Marco, Tomás, etc.
