Madeleine is a lovely name and not so strongly associated with poor missing Maddie. Do you like the "French-ness" or the nicknames Maddie and Lainey?

Or you could go with Elena (Ah-LANE-ah) or play with adding an M for variations of Malayna. Perhaps use Madeline, like the picture book?
