Thoughts on Jess?

I love the name Jess for a girl but I’m not sure if it’s good as a stand alone name or should I compromise for Jessica or Jessie?

what are your thoughts on Jessica/Jessie?

Also, do you think I should use it if it’s the name of someone who I had conflict with in the past? I’m completely over the drama but I don’t know if it’s appropriate to still use it.

Jessamine is an option. Jess is fine but Jessica and Jessamine are both very pretty . Jess Phillips and Jess Carter are both Jessicas

VenusClapTrap · 20/08/2023 11:27

Jessamine is beautiful.

continentallentil · 20/08/2023 11:30

It needs a full name - Jessica or Jessamine as PP says

Only you can decide re the person from your past, but the fact you are asking possibly means you shouldn’t

Moonshine5 · 20/08/2023 11:30

Love it!

MotherofDogs3 · 20/08/2023 11:33

Neverseenbefore · 20/08/2023 11:35

I’d for for the longer name and Jess for short.

pilates · 20/08/2023 11:37

I love them all Jessica, Jessamine, Jess and Jessie

Echobelly · 20/08/2023 11:39

I'd officially give her a longer name, so she has options. Our DS is known my a nickname, but has a full name on his birth certificate, passport etc

OopsieeDaisy · 20/08/2023 13:57

I would use Jess as a nn for a longer name. I love Jessica but I also know someone named Jessye which is quite nice.

toottootpipip · 20/08/2023 14:14

I like it standalone

ClarabelleRose · 20/08/2023 14:15

I love it. Just Jess is 😍

LBFseBrom · 20/08/2023 14:30

Jessica is a lovely name and she can be called Jess or Jessie. It's nice to have a name that can be shortened, there's something friendly about it.

Newbeeee88 · 23/08/2023 08:19

I like Jessamine and Jessa!

MotherWol · 23/08/2023 08:20

my youngest is a Jessica, she prefers to call herself Jessie; I like that having the full name means she has the option to be Jessica/Jessie/Jess in future.

Shrinkingviolet6 · 23/08/2023 08:25

I love Jessica, that would have been my choice had I not had DS (not having anymore so sadly won’t be using Jessica)

Same. Tried twice but to no avail...! Not convinced about Jessamine which I've never heard used.

KirstenBlest · 23/08/2023 16:21

@grass321 , it's another name for jasmine

peaceinourtime · 24/08/2023 14:59

I met a Jessamy, she would say it’s like sesame. I had never heard it before, it’s nice. Fun fact I once knew a Jesse spelt the male way. Her mum didn’t know.
