I like Jennifer!

Theoldwoman · 17/08/2023 00:16

No, no, no and no.

WanderingWitches · 17/08/2023 00:17

I like them all except Vera.

mathanxiety · 17/08/2023 00:18

Love Vera and to some extent Tamsin.

No to the other two, especially Jenna.

DramaAlpaca · 17/08/2023 00:18

Love Tamsin and Jennifer.

Maria fine as a middle name.

Vera is a No.

calmcoco · 17/08/2023 00:20

Tamsin is excellent.
Maria very good, due a revival IMO.
Jennifer is a classic.

Vera no.
Jenna no no no.

momtoboys · 17/08/2023 00:24

I’m sorry but I don’t like any of them.

CallieQ · 17/08/2023 00:30

Jenna is the only one I like

CallieQ · 17/08/2023 00:30

Vera... Duckworth

KrisJennersSuit · 17/08/2023 00:36

Who is Vera Duckworth is that a bad thing?

@momtoboys I appreciate the honesty, it's one good thing with asking people on an online forum because friends are often too polite to say what they really think, probably in case I choose a name they say they hate.

I like Jennifer best but Jenny rather than Jenna.

wateredwillowwavingwondrously · 17/08/2023 00:42

The older generations will associate the name Vera with grandmother's and old aunts. I don't think many people younger than 25 will make that connection though I could be wrong.

I like them all. Favourite as of writing this is Maria followed by Jennifer.

thislillightofmine · 17/08/2023 00:48

Babies born today won't have the foggiest who Vera Duckworth or Lynn are. Neither of my two, both young teens, have ever watched a soap in their lives. Kids today are glued to phones and on demand streaming services. I like Vera but not enough to use it.

Jennifer and Tamsin are distinctly British which is nice. Both underused and inoffensive.

Maria is international, easy to say and spell, the most popular girls name on the planet if you don't mind that

marblemad · 17/08/2023 04:45

They are all very old fashioned or just off in general, Jenna reminds me of icky periods (so sorry) and the others remind me of poor old ladies.

cptartapp · 17/08/2023 06:04

Jennifer is nice

garlictwist · 17/08/2023 06:14

They are all ok apart from Vera which is dreadful.

ShoesoftheWorld · 17/08/2023 06:16

Quite retro (apart from Maria which, as a PP said, will travel extremely well). Jennifer is sweet but I really don't like Jenna - Jen or Jenny would be better shortenings.

I much prefer Verity to Vera.

This.

No child should ever be named Vera.

Berlinlover · 17/08/2023 06:30

Vera is just awful, the rest are fine.

GoodVibesHere · 17/08/2023 06:35

I don't like any of them. Vera is the worst one.

TheaBrandt · 17/08/2023 06:39

I like them because they are not Grace/Isabel/Eve type names which I am totally bored of!

IggyAce · 17/08/2023 07:18

Like Tamsin and Jennifer from your list. Will advise don’t set your hopes on a set nn because it might not happen once they start school.

UltramarineViolet · 17/08/2023 07:22

I like them all except Vera which I can only associate with a slightly scary middle aged women (not Vera Duckworth but someone I knew in my youth)

I prefer Jenna to Jennifer

Tasmin is my favourite but Maria is lovely too

Olika · 17/08/2023 07:22

Personally I don't like any of them

Martamaybe · 17/08/2023 07:32

I don’t understand all the dislike of Vera. The sound of the name is great . You’re ahead of the curve that’s all and the more I think about it the more I like it.
All your names are good in my opinion and a refreshing change
