We love the name Jude for a boy and are pretty set on it. The question is the middle name. The name Edward means a lot to us and it goes perfectly but I am just wondering... Do you think of Jedward when I say Jude Edward? The middle name would only be said if asked but I am naturally an overthinker so opinions would really help please! 😆 x

I do a bit to be honest, just when I say it out loud, but I was young when Jedward were a thing. None of his peers will have a clue who they are so I wouldn't worry.

I think you are over thinking. I didn't think of Jedward with the names anyway, but you rarely actually use the middle name so I think it's not an issue.

Also I don't think many people under the age of 25 would even know who Jedward is.

The two d's are a bit close, but full names aren't used all that much. Not that keen on Jude but that's me.

In all honesty, yes when you say them together it does sound a bit like 'jedward' but I truly don't think it matters.

I don't know what Jedward are doing nowadays but I doubt anyone your son's age will have heard of them when they reach school. If they do, tbh, does it matter? Not being mean about Jedward but weren't most of their songs quite lightweight covers so they probably won't resurface much. They were a cheesy teenage pop act and as far as I know didn't do anything wrong so it's not a bad association.

It's a lovely name, don't worry about the Jedward link!

I know loads of people with the last name Edwards and a few of them have a J initial. Not an issue at all.
