Due in 4 days and struggling with a boy name.

Love Alistair
Like Lachlan
Not keen on Emmett or Sebastian

Emmett is Cornish for ant. Cornwall has emmets not grockles
Sebastian is overdone.

Love Alistair and really love Lachlan.

The only one I vaguely like is Sebastian.

Think Alistair and Emmett sound weak and Lachlan sounds chavvy.

Alistair - great but he'll get called Al/Ali. Some will misspell it or say Ali-stair
Emmett - awful
Sebastian - not a favourite, makes me think of sebum
Lachlan - great but will you say Lachlan (scottish ch) or Lacklan?

I'm Scottish and DH and I are raising the baby in Scotland so definitely Lachlan instead of 'lacklan'.

Thank goodness for that! I like it but not 'Lacklun' Probably like Alistair more though.

I like Emmett, not the others

Alistair - seems like a name for a middle aged man
Emmett - I don’t like it, but also, he would get called Emma by people who drop the t
Sebastian - it’s okay, a bit frilly
Lachlan - used to know a lovely little Lachlan, who went by Lockie, so that’s my choice

Alistair - no. Middle aged man name.
Emmett - awful.
Sebastian - ok at a push
Lachlan - definitely no. And a right mouthful.

I think they are all great, which is unusual when one works in a school; usually at least one of the names makes me think 'oh no'. My favourite is Alistair, but I have a generation X-er's love for Emmet because of Doc Brown lost on most of you, I'm sure 🦖🦕

Alistair - love but prefer spelling Alasdair. Don't think it's a middle aged name, I know some of all ages (in Scotland), I think it's pretty timeless.

Lachlan - love but would worry about others' pronunciations of it.

Sebastian - like.

Emmett - nope!

I have a Lachlan (in England so not as known) and we get lots of positive comments on his name.

I really, really love it and don’t think I’ll ever find a name (boy or girl) that I love as much as it!

Lachlan and Alistair are gorgeous.

Back to the Future was my inspiration 😂Annoyingly anyone I've brought it up to has asked if I'm a twilight fan since one of the main characters in that is also an Emmett 🙄might be a mark against it honestly!

I like Sebastian best followed by Alistair. Emmett is just OK and I really don’t like Lachlan.

How many syllables is your surname? If 3/4 or more, a longer first name might be too much of a mouthful when said together.

Alistair and Sebastian- like
Emmett- also thought of Doc Brown. Its a wildcard for me. Its very close to a friends surname, so I can't see it as a first name- but it might be a bit different and unique, and just the name you want. Best of luck.
