Long names with nicknames

Trying to find a long name that can be shortened to a nickname. Cannot find a name that sticks that we both like so all suggestions welcome

I think you might need to give us a few more clues around what sort of names you like and what you've already discounted.

Nebuchadnezzar could be shortened to Neb, Chad or Nezzy but suspect that's maybe not what you are looking for?

Is there a reason you want a long name with diminutives?
You could name a child Alexandrina and call her Betty or Julie if you wanted to.

Just give the kid a break, and use the short version as their given name. I’m so grateful to have a short name

Margot - Mae is a bit odd because May is traditionally a form of Mary and Margot a form of Margaret, there's no connection between Margaret and Mary. I don't really like Margot or Mae

Penelope known as Penny is fine.

I'd just pick a name you like regardless of length.
If it's long consider what it might get shortened to, if it's short consider if a longer version would be nice. (e.g Kit - Christopher, Alec - Alexander, Kate - Katherine, Cassie - Cassandra)
