Fifi for a nickname

Is it odd to call my DD Fifi as a nickname even though it's nothing to do with her name.

I had a friend called ping as a child. A nickname doesn’t have to be a shortened version of their actual name, not odd at all.

Nicknames have nowt to do with the real name. Dd and ds have daft made up names which have no resemblance to their real names, but they each love the story of how their nicknames came into being!

I call mine Squid, she’s definitely not called anything close to Squid
