Does Zack 🦊 work?

We’ve got a few names on our shortlist and at the stage where we’re looking at narrowing it down to any nitpicky things that mean a name won’t work.

Full name would be Zachary and middle name William.

My son has a friend with that very name. It is an excellent name and works well!

I think Zachary William Fox is a lovely name and Zack Fox is a great nickname-surname combo

I prefer Zac, but it’s a great name either way.

Zachary Fox is a lovely name.

Obviously likely to be Zac, generally in conversation, but nice to have the extra syllables when giving both names or it can sound a bit like barking {see what I did there} an order.

I think it’s a bit odd to be honest. Zac Fox. Sounds like a porn star or something!!

In what way? I’m not offended or anything and my mind has definitely made some funny connections with names that I just can’t shake, but want to understand what the connection might be.

Think Zachary William is really nice and goes with your surname

It just feels a really ‘staged’ name like a porn start might give themselves. The surname fox is really strong so it feels like the first name needs to not be.

That’s funny as earlier DH said it sounded strong to him like Max Power 😂 (it wasn’t a negative though).

Thanks all, I think we’ve narrowed it down to Zachary or Gabriel (Gabe for short). I was a bit worried that Zachary lacked as much gravitas as Gabriel and DS1’s name (Nathaniel known as Nate) but apart from the porn star comment it seems to be better received than Gabriel.

I think we’ll probably make a final decision when we see him.

I MUCH prefer Zachery over Gabriel. Gabriel is just not a name I can take to.

If we do go with it what spelling do people prefer: Zack, Zach or Zac. I usually like Zach but for some reason with this post found myself typing Zack 😆

Love both Zachary and Gabriel, and Nathaniel was my first choice for my DS1, so I think you have great taste 😀

For some reason I very strongly prefer Zach as a shortening.
