Which do you prefer?

Tobias - will ne called Tobias at home but ok with others shortening once at school

Or

Rowan - would probably be shortened sometimes at home to Roo but Rowan mostly

Odd one out here, but I much prefer Rowan. I don't like the sound of Tobias and have never met a pleasant one!

I think it sounds friendlier than Tobias. It sounds more approachable, maybe because it's more naturey.

How would you pronounce Rowan though? I've seen some here pronouncing ROW as in arguing, whereas I'd pronounce it as in 'row, row, row your boat'.

I never shorten my sons name from Tobias to Toby. I didn’t like Toby at all and he definitely doesn’t suit Toby. I’ve even corrected people when they’ve shortened it. He’s 9 now and no one calls him Toby
