I heard of a new baby today called Anne. I haven't heard this name being used for years. It would be nice to see it make a comeback.

I think it's nice. Although classic, it was very very popular for 1950s girls, like Mary or Margaret, and it probably went out of fashion for that reason.

Love Anna, was a strong contender when we had DC but it didn't go with our surname. However, really not keen on Anne. It just seems so boring in comparison

Anne will only be a baby for a short time and will grow up with a classic that has stood the test of time.

It was boring a few decades ago but now a little Anne will stand out in a sea of Graces, Sophies, Ellas and Lilys.

I like how it looks written down but it’s not a very nice sound IMO - one syllable which just sounds like a whine

Anna and Annabel are popular though, and there are zillions of Annies, so it’s around.

I reckon in 10-20 years they’ll be a real Peter and Jane mid century revival so it’ll come back then
