DH and I like Ellie, but we're not so keen on Eleanor. What else could Ellie be short for?

It's fine as a full name.

If you want to call her Ellie, then call her that! Why on earth people give a (longer) name when they know they will actually call the child by another one completely bamboozles me!

I know two Ellie's and their full names are Ellie. It's absolutely a name on it's own, doesn't need to be short for anything 😊
